Here we go............Woody Allen about to be executed. Him climbing the wall is hilarious.
    Bond enjoys jasmine tea.
    Terence Cooper is pretty suave.
I think Ursula looks great in this one.
She might be my favorite Vesper Lynd.

    The Look of Love.
Peter Sellers doing the Fleming Bondian work out of push ups.

This film's equivalent of Q Branch isn't bad.

Bond seems to be experiencing a musical dance number as he meets Mata Bond. This reminds me of the opening to TEMPLE OF DOOM. Anything Goes.

It's been quite some time since I watched this. I vaguely recall these scenes with Mata Bond.

This mid section does drag a bit, but some of it is pretty funny. This silliness is akin to a typical MONKEES episode.
    Yay! Vladek Sheybal!

Jacqueline Bisset is amazing here. Pity she was never in an official Bond.
Ursula has far more screen time in this than in DN.

The torture scene in pretty good. Peter O'Toole.
Orson Welles is an outstanding Le Chiffre.

Another amazing fight scene and now Bond and Moneypenny are captured. Great set. The colors are superb.
Woody Allen is the author of all Bond's pain.

The David Niven punching bag is classic.

David Prowse in his first outing as the Frankenstein Monster. I'm glad the make up department didn't make him too green.

Great climax. George raft is hilarious.
Wonderful romp of a Bond spoof.
Best viewing of this epic in decades!

Taking one for the team and watching this tonight.
Relished your insight as always, @ToTheRight. Not least the Don Knotts props, Vampira, Old Dracula.

I need to take the plunge again myself to really dig in to your comments. Once more into the breach...

Thanks, @RichardTheBruce. It was fun watching this one tonight. I suddenly had an urge for it. So many classic era stars make a appearance.

Yes, good catch. Maybe Spielberg was influenced by it?
  • SPECTRE
Noticed that in the title-sequence he has flashbacks of Vesper. Yes, that's the first time I've noticed that. Oh, and the PTS is very well shot, and I like the yellow tint, fits the atmosphere of the Day of the Dead festival.
  • The quips really don't work between Bond and Q. Apart from the historical relics in his house of gadgets, the jokes fall flat, I don't think Craig suits the humour, it would work better with Brosnan definitely.
  • Bond wearing the exact same sunglasses as Blofeld in Rome...blatant product placement.
  • The boardroom scene is well done (except from Mr Hinx's entrance which is just gross). Reminds me of the classics. It looks like we'll get one in No Time To Die as well which I'm looking forward to.
  • The Verdi playing in the Fiat is great, and the airbag :))
  • Nine Eyes, Ralph Fiennes vs Andrew Scott, to be continued another day with more waffly dialogue...
  • Mr White's death scene is very atmospheric, almost like the culmination of Casino Royale/Quantum of Solace. The cinematography (particularly in the snow scenes) is very good, though not as good as in Quantum of Solace and Skyfall.

Great write up of SP, @Quantum_of_Tomorrow. It's a film I go back and forth on, really.

Tonight, my Bond film of choice is

    A VIEW TO A KILL

I enjoy this this film far more when I look at it through the eyes of my former 10 year old self. I remember vividly when this premiered on VHS and my folks rented it. My mom really didn't care for it, finding it too violent for a Roger film. Oddly she loved LTK, though.

Bond arrives at the chateau and immediately gives Tibbett sh!t. The audience laughed at every line practically. Seems to me audiences were more vocal in the '80's and '90's
    than today.

I actually like the little fight in Zorin's warehouse Tibbett gets his ass kicked whereas Bond holds his own.

Zorin doesn't care that Mayday is about to sleep with Bond.
Always liked the little scene in Zorin's office. Zorin doesn't buy that his indispensable computer finds Bond extremely dangerous.

Looking for Maud Adams. There she is!!!! Yay!. We can close the file on that one.
    Just kidding.

    I go first Indy!!!!

Bond walks around with his hands in his pockets. I believe John Glen gave Dalton a hard time over this, yet Sir Roger gets a pass.
  • Maud Adams does appear, wearing turquoise from 1:00:28-1:00:36 I believe

Yeah, apologies due to a football game that was on on Sunday (anyone know which?), I couldn't finish SP but I finished it yesterday and it stays in my number 2 position, I love the moment in the PTS when Bond strolls along on the edge of the top of the building with the theme playing, and I love Mr White's death scene in particular.

Sadly I still didn't see her.

I'm finishing my viewing of VIEW tonight as I was distracted yesterday.

I'm at the mines sequence. I love those Zorin jackets.
This is my favorite jacket Bond steals in a John Glen film. The Octopussy circus jacket looked good on Roger as well.

I still sad we lost Tanya Roberts. Criminally underrated Bond girl, IMO.

My girlfriend died just a few days later. We'd bond over celebrity deaths, especially those who'd appeared in a 007 film. She always liked this film, but LALD was her favorite.

The scene of Zorin shooting his employees really disturbed my mom when we saw this in the cinema.
I actually had a headache once we got to this scene. I hadn't exactly eaten anything for breakfast before we attended the matinee as I was so excited to see this film. My mom asked if I had any breakfast, since I was clearly old enough to fix something for myself.
I said "just some chips". She suggested from then on I eat something of substance in the mornings, cereal, toast, or at least make myself a sandwich. That's if I wanted to grow up to be big and strong like Roger Moore.
Mayday is one of my favorite Bond girls. She's great, a complete badass.
Zorin looks devastated that she foiled his plan.
