Here we go.......................the Gypsy Camp section, completely removed on the ABC network airings of the '80's.

Bond and Kerim leave the periscope, they cut to commercial, and resume when 007 returns to his hotel with Tania awaiting.

Still, the ABC Sunday Night Movie airings of Bond were an event and fun to stay up for.

I remember this film aired on a Thursday night in May of 1984.

I kept that TV Guide for years.

I love the shot of Bond laughing as he enjoys the belly dancer's performance.

I wonder if we'll get an amazing girl fight in NTTD like this one here?

"It's be a lot cooler if we did!" as spoken in my best Matthew McConaughey voice.

If anyone was born to play Felix it would be him, IMO.

Grant saves Bond's life and leaves him baffled.
    Great action sequence.

    Vavra is great.

"Vavra thanks you for saving his life. You are now his son".

I like to cleverly work that line into my everyday life as well.

It's exceedingly difficult I must say.

Anita Ekberg is great. Wonderful in my favorite film:
    FANGS OF THE LIVING DEAD.

    Atmospheric vampire film.

I believed she was married to future Felix, Rik Van Nutter.

So in the novel it was my other favorite beauty, Marilyn.

Poster for NIAGARA. Wonderful color noir.

The Tatiana seduction scene is damn hot.

Connery and Bianchi play this superbly.

The various discreetest versions: Brolin, Sam Neill are almost laughable when compared to the chemistry Connery and Bianchi display here.

Maud Adams played the scene pretty well, though I must say. I just never believe she's Tatiana Romanova.

I love way James Brolin completely mispronounced her name, BTW.

I tend to think of this film as the best in the series. OHMSS is a very close second.

My favorite fluctuates between GF and TB.

    Grant slaps Bond hard.

    Ah the iconic fight.

When I saw this screened back in the '90's, the audience cheered loud after Bond defeated Grant.

They also laughed at 'Excuse me". Great Connery moment.

That was a terrible audition by Brolin.
It's only recently I saw that he shot scenes for OP, where Bond arrives in India and meets Vijay. He didn't impress me. So glad Roger signed as I believe OP to be his best appearance as 007!

Had Brolin actually been cast and played the role I imagine his performance would have improved. He'd have had time to develop and work on the character. Still, compared to Connery/Bianchi, the Brolin version of that scene is hilarious. Maud looks comfortable enough, though.

The Blu-ray/4K thread has gotten me obsessed with various Bond transfers.
So I just picked up the 2000 SE DVD of

    LIVE AND LET DIE

    and am watching it now.

I must say so far I do like the colors and the sound is fairly decent.

The 2006 UE DVD by Lowry effed up the titles royally making the red colors bleed.
That was an awful transfer. Horrendous and shameful.
    The Blu-ray was improved immensely.

Bond and my favorite Madeline in the series, Madeline Smith are enjoying some well deserved time together.

Roger looks amazing in his first outing. This is hands down one of my favorite M scenes.

This the THE Bond film that got me obsessed with Bond's hair. The only time in the series Moore sports a nice tapered nape as seen when Bond gives M some coffee.
    Great Moneypenny sequence.

    Lois is my favorite Moneypenny.

"A little easy, Charlie, Let's get there in one piece..............CHARLIE?"

Roger at his most suave. He's really great in this one.
Very simplistic action sequence, but I love very frame.
My grandmother owned vehicles like the ones in this scene.
I'd sit in the back seat pretending to be Roger, perfecting my Roger voice.

    I'm sure that was annoying.

    Arnold Williams!

1970s New York is the best.

    Controversial opinion:

I like this "Bond, James Bond" sequence even more than the iconic DR NO
    version.

I also love the run down alley Bond fights Mr Big's henchmen in.
Great location. Perhaps ON THE TRACKS OF 007 could locate that spot?

    Baron Samedi! Yay!

    THE MAN WHO CANNOT DIE

    I love Martin's score here.

Roger in his hotel performing one of my favorite types of Bond scenes: the hotel room bug search.

An extreme lost art in the Bond films.

I often wonder why this film went back to the flat aspect ratio? Perhaps after DAF, Guy Hamilton was more comfortable with this ratio?
Suits this film and the next one fine. really. I tend to think of them as more low key adventures.
Quarrel Jr is great. I love all the scenes shot in Jamaica.
One of the things I look forward to the most in NTTD.

This isn't a bad transfer. I think I prefer these colors to the Blu-ray.

It looks a little like the transfer used when the 1992 MGM/UA "remastered" VHS tapes were released.

The bedroom scene with Solitaire is brighter and contrast deeper.

Agreed, time to bring it back!

    Mrs. Bell is amazing.
If I had to pick one film I thought was the funniest in the series, this is it.
Mr Blinker giving Felix s**t is hilarious.

Felix also tells Bond to relax.

I love BJ Arnau's rendition of the song.

Mr Big pulls off his nose.

    Tee-Hee thinks it's funny.

    Quite revealing.

This is one of my favorite Bond/villain confrontation scenes.
    I always liked Kananga's caper.

Yaphet Kotto is a great villain here.
The remote Kananga uses to open the door looks like an 8 ball.

Solitaire easily remains one of my fave Bond girls.

I really want to find that PHANTOM OF THE OPERA Jane Seymour did in '83. It's on Youtube, but I wish there was a proper Bly-ray/ DVD release. I remember watching it when it originally aired as I was just getting into classic monster characters then.

    Here we go...............the crocodile farm.

Yes, Tee-Hee's blazer looks the correct shade of red on this DVD release.
Looks like it did in the cinema.

Good. This is what I was looking for.

The score as Bond is lighting his torch to burn the lab down sounds good on this DVD.

The 2006 UE DVD omitted the heavy guitar/bass lick which seriously bothered me.
Sometimes when a the audio is remixed for stereo, DTS or whatever certain instruments in the music gets lost.
Here it's fine. The blu-ray got it right as well.

Tommy Lane is underrated. He's a great henchman and has some memorable lines.
    Great facial expressions as well.

Agreed! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Not as big as Tee-Hee or Baron, but still a really good henchman. LALD is very strong in the villains department.

Several moments in the boat chase. Some great stuff here.

Martin places the music at just the right moment.
    Wonderful.

The wedding scene is damn funny.

J.W. is hilarious throughout. I think he's a great character.

I really wouldn't mind a light hearted humorous Bond era post Craig, providing the humor is done well.

I think it's time for more fun in the series.

I can see why some fans may find this film too along the lines of SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT or that type of chase comedy popular in the'70's.

A lot of those movies came later. Perhaps this film was an influence?

I think it works fine, though.

Good point. There must have been several films that influenced those late seventies Burt Reynolds flicks (inspiration always seems to come from several sources), though LALD could have well have been among them. DAF also. Movies like It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World or Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines are also precursors in that chase comedy genre.

The 1970's I find a very interesting time in movie history. Lots of changes and evolution.
Great viewing of LALD. Always hits the spot and puts a smile on my face.

Agreed, a really great scene with M.
Lee is exceptional here....always bugs me though that Bond is very sloppy pouring Ms coffee!!

@MooseWithFleas, Unfortunately, I won't be able to make those days myself as I'm working over night shifts. I could probably do sometime during the week, though. A viewing party would be a blast.
