    I agree. I've felt from the beginning that many people here are voting for their favorite movie and not their objectively favorite chase. This is a shame because it over values things like FYEO, OP, and undervalues the chases in TND, and QOS.

    My hope is that we can get CR eliminated before QOS finely goes so it can take the 7th spot. It deserves much better but people can't help themselves I guess. Also, if you enjoyed the CR chase, for all its few seconds, then the QOS chase it the same chase brought out to several minutes, in daylight, and with guns. Such a great chase, and it deserves to be #1, but I'll settle for #7 if we can get CR gone first...

    Well that's just a matter of opinion @sirseanisbond. It seems to be a common argument in these games when voting doesn't go the way people want or think it should.
    You'll never get the outcome you want in any of these games, and to be honest what do they actually mean. It's just a fun way to pass the time.
    Years from now people wont look back and say, Oh my how could the chase from Spectre be ranked so low in the Mi6 Community Bond car chase elimination game of 2016.
    Opinions differ, and the overall outcome will too.

    I for one have lots of respect for the TSWLM chase. It is pretty dynamic, has a fantastic setting and cinematography, lots of different vehicles chasing Bond and ends in an outrageously fantastic twist of events. It is always a highlight of the film that I look forward a lot.

    Well it's called underwater lotus.

    The Lotus is still being chased when it enters the water. First by the helicopter, then by the mini-sub and divers, and it is still a car at all times, so its still a chase.

    Well it's called underwater lotus.

    The Lotus is still being chased when it enters the water. First by the helicopter, then by the mini-sub and divers, and it is still a car at all times, so its still a chase.

    Well it has converted into a submarine at that point, but it is still a chase. Just a slow one. The best part of the chase is when it isn't an underwater Lotus.

    I agree that the chases in TND got shafted, whether fairly or not is up for debate. They have a lot more flow and energy than titles above them in the list.

    I love TLD and TSWLM (both are in my upper half), but those cases are lightweights. TSWLM chase goes like this: Jaws has impossible bad aim with multiple machine guns. Then a helicopter chases Bond on land (the only worthwhile part of the chase), before a totally anemic (albeit pretty scenery) to the underwater missile fire. So what if the car is iconic, I would trust 80% of the members here to think up a more exciting chase!

    The only part of the TLD chase I like is the "few optional extras installed" which was a brilliant moment, except the chases goes on for like 4 more minutes with a large side of cheese.

    It basically happens in a vacuum though. So, if I go and quote people on why they didn't like TND from other topics, "too much inept machine gun fire," is surely an excuse. With the amount of rounds fired at the car, none of the windows sustained any damage and therefore lets us see it underwater. That's just no danger and little excitement. If we are talking about being minimalist, maybe only one of those should have occurred (or both at separate times or in reverse order).

    The oncoming fire did destroy the windows in TND and set up the bazooka evasion. That's the sort of thing that gets me on the edge of my seat. Maybe that explains why more people think that film is a bore if they don't enjoy that part very much.

    The action in that film thrills me far too much to ever be bored with that movie @Mansfield. That's a good point about the rear windows getting blasted out in that chase.

    * The TSWLM car chase is most beautiful to look at, I can enjoy it without bullets blasting the Lotus' plastic covering to shreds. In Bond films, prior to modern times, most bullets in any Bond movie car chase never hit a moving vehicle. The idea of turning it into a submarine was iconic and played a large part in reviving Bond as a franchise. More generally, younger fans have been socialized with more gritty movies and car chases. I am not saying realistic, because much of the modern stuff defies the laws of physics for the sake of artistic impression. However, in the 70s and 80s, films (particularly Bond films) were light fare and cartoonish. A chase like this, with a radically wedge-shaped car (another novelty for 1977 and never seen before), was Bond at his very best.

    ** The beauty of this one is its brute force approach. Of course it goes for laughs (statue), but it was a novel idea for the Bond universe. I liken it to the caterpillar in CR, both vehicles were around and useful when Bond had to think quickly.
