the stunt casting of the 90's and early 00's was as pitiful as it was pandering.. Terri Hatcher, Denise Richards, Halle Berry.... it felt like they were doing it simply to appeal to American audiences - which, as an American, i couldn't care less - just get actresses with some real talent - not those run of mill 'flavors of the month' they sent to Pierce for a Bond play date.

I think they were going for looks above all with them, and popularity with American audiences.

    So agree.
She would have been an incredible Bond Girl but i would have made her a Bond henchwoman very much in the style of Xenia Onnatop.
Have you seen your Goldeneye Blue ray or dvd?
Of you don't in the special features there is a tv special for Bond hosted by her and you can say she was really a Bond fan

Here a small clip of that special

  • I'm not sure that this appropriate since this is more about actresses but I do wish that for all her bumbling incompetence it was Mary Goodnight who was killed by Scaramanga and Andrea Anders who became the main Bond girl.

    @Szonana

Yep, I have seen that GoldenEye special, and probably 10 times :))
It was on the LaserDisc release of GoldenEye in 1996 and later also included on the DVD and of course the Blu-ray :)

    Woww ,10 times?
And you said this came with the VhS?, sometimes i forget those things existed. They were a real pain. The rewinding was so slow you had to put stop rewind and wait a few a mintutes to watch the whole film again and the boxes were really heavy.

Thank god we changed to DVD and latter blueray wehere all teh menus are in the same place without changing screen.

So you have Goldeneye in all the formats?

Passenger 57. A bit of a cult classic starring W. Snipes. That's where you can see Hurley's early potential as a baddie.

And latter really proved herself with bedazzled which is one of my all time favorite comedies. when it was just released in dvd i watched thst one like a 2,000 times almost to the point of learning the dialogues.

Sure she would never win an oscar but she is really gun as a sexy villain.
I watched a few episodes of the Royals and she is great

Whoever would've had good on-screen chemistry with whatever Bond actor at the time. Well-known, established stars could work, they just have to, you know, act, and have good chemistry with Bond onscreen.
My #1 favorite actress working today is Cate Blanchett. Would've been nice to see her in a Bond film somewhere along the way, maybe even Bond 25; she's almost the same age as Craig and I wonder how they would fit together.

I agree, and to answer the question about fit, perfectly imho. Cate's one of the best out there and it's a damn shame she hasn't been cast in a Bond film yet. Same goes for Jessica Chastain.
