Please see my article here on The Bondologist Blog - I go into some depth on Moore's more ruthless moments:

Definitely the Egyptian rooftop scene in The Spy Who Loved Me...

Dangling on the roof's edge, the fat henchman grabs Moore's tie. Moore coldly asks him: "Where's Fekkesh?" Despite the henchman betraying his boss, Moore kills him anyway. Gritty scene. "What a helpful chap!"
  • 'Pyramids' - aaargh....

The best was at the end and the killing of Karl Stromberg that year though

I liked the fight at the Octopussy Island also, and the killing of the knife throwing twin at the log cabin in (then) West Germany. Moore does humor in abundance, but they were some truly fine and serious moments for the actor

Once again, kicking Locque off the cliff, "You left this with Ferrara I believe", and dropping Jaws into the shark pool. "How does that grab you"

Would of been better or more effective, if they had omitted the last line in the above

"Speak now or forever hold your piece" comment from TMWTGG. It's one of Moore's finest moments.

I would also like to include his cold-blooded seduction of Solitaire, killing of Locque, killing of Dr. Katanga, killing Sandor, shoving that Thai kid into the water after the latter demanded payment for his escape, and shooting Stromberg four times.
  • 'Bloody tourist' - 'Fifty thousand Baht'...

I think he shot Jurgens more than four times, incidentally, but will have to watch again sometime. You may well be right however. Been a long while since a last viewing
