    I always assumed this Craig pose was based on a promo image from L&LD of Moore in black top with 44 magnum and shoulder holster. Maybe they both owe something to L&LD? (btw, I'm NOT a fan of the Moore era in the slightest either, so I'm not pushing a partisan agenda, just making an observation, like this could have been Craig starting with another Steve McQueen-inspired pose and somebody Bondifying it.)

    It's without a doubt a homage to LALD. Mendes has said he's a fan of LALD, and this makes its way into SKYFALL too, with the Komodo dragon scene (a poor imitation of the crocodile scene in LALD notwithstanding).
