SPY knows Bond

SPY opens with a great pre-title sequence with Jude Law in the Bond role accompanied by music that is such a fine knock off Casino Royale, I was sure the composer must have been David Arnold. Turning expectations upside-down, this
Melissa McCarthy vehicle is very funny and a keen parody of the Bond films. The filmmakers certainly know their Bond films.
As preposterous as the premise is, this a well-done adventure with a comedic Jason Statham making fun of himself in all of his previous roles. No shortage of bloodshed and violent deaths, laced with outrageous sight gags and lines. And it ends all but promising a sequel.

Other thoughts?

I still have nightmares about paying good money to see the abomination that way 'Spy Hard' back in the '90s ... :|

Spy Hard is great @AceHole. Especially the Wierd Al opening titles a la Thunderball.

I enjoyed it, thought it was very funny in some scenes, a bit violent though.

Loved it. Better than Kingsman imho because it played out as expected. No surprises, except for how entertaining it was, and how funny Rose Byrne and Miranda Hart can be. McCarthy was.......well, she was McCarthy. I'm warming to her.

Jude Law is increasingly looking a little 'air-brushed'. I think he's had some work done..

I'm listening to the Spy soundtrack, at the very moment, and I couldn't help but listen all the memorable cues from Casino Royale recycled in the score. Can anyone hear them? There's the Komodo Dragon reference as well from Skyfall.

I can't watch a film with McCarthy, sorry i just don't get the joke with this actress. I'll definitely avoid this.
