In the Spectre PTS, it's the same elevator as the one in LTK in Mexico City.

Not quite. The Grand Hotel Ciudad de Mexico has two elevators, the one in the right was used for LTK and the one on the left for SPECTRE.

Good point, @marketto007. I didn't knew that. Thanks!

Why does the hotel look so much nicer in Spectre there are some nice locations in LTK but they all seem to go wasted.

That's what I'm saying though did they change? Or were they just shot poorly in LTK?

Poorly shot. The Glen films don't make the locations look glamorous

I know LTK is sometimes referred to as the "TV movie" Bond film, so that may factor for some, visually.

Dalton supposed LTK was going to be the last Bond film? I wasn't aware he'd ever said something like that.

    From this article: https://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/dalton_bond_era.php3
Dalton was candid in a 1989 magazine interview on the state of affairs: "My feeling is this will be the last one. I don`t mean my last one. I mean the end of the whole lot. I don`t speak with any real authority, but it`s sort of a feeling I have. Sorry!". Ultimately, Dalton would be proved partially correct, as he never returned to the role.

Perhaps he had gotten wind of EON's coming legal troubles, I'm not sure.

I remember Dalton saying that too, it got me thinking "ah but you were wrong they did continue, we've had another 8 since then"
Then I thought of something I've never really considered before. It's been 27 years since LTK and we've 'only' had 8 Bond movies since then. The preceding 27 years takes us right back to Dr No. We had 16 films in that time.
I know the 8 is to do with legal wranglings LTK - GE, larger than usual gaps DAD - CR etc but it just struck me that the last 3 decades have been rather barren when you think about it. Or maybe the the previous 27 years were just incredibly productive?

I think that's the better way to look at it. We fans have been lucky. It's really something that the series has lasted more than 20 films over 50 years. Personally, I didn't "expect" a new Bond film when I became a fan in the period between DAD and CR, and that lack of expectation has continued... Everything after the Fleming novels and '60s films is just gravy to me.

I wonder if there are any folks on here who became fans between LTK and GE and see new Bond films in a similar way? As a bonus, but not something that's ever guaranteed or necessarily needed.

Spectre. I always wondered why Bond is so intent on getting Sciarri's ring ( in the helicopter). It was viewing 6 when I noticed Sciarri holding his hand up to show the ring when Bond is watching from the roof ledge.

Indeed. We're now averaging 3 movies per decade when before it was 5-6.

@NicNac, the director should have just done a quick close up on the ring during that sequence. I didn't notice that before either until you just mentioned it, and always wondered why he went for the ring as well.

You're right about that @bondhames. It needed a close up. So easy to miss such a detail

I got it straight away in the cinema, mainly due to Bond's face as Sciarra shows the ring, they tie in together...have a look at Bond's face at that moment next time you watch it,peeps.

Yeah, I only noticed this on my third viewing. Must pay more attention!

I noticed it the first time.... Mendes has a knack for failing to highlight important details sometimes.

Yeah I noticed on first viewing - in fact it's always struck as being a bit forced with the ring.

Watching TND right now, I just realized how Connery is the only Bond whose first 'full-blast' (outside of the end credits) moment of the Bond theme is not car related, as for him it was played during his casino intro. Lazenby's first Bond theme moment is when he is driving his Aston Martin in the PTS, Moore's as he being driven in the taxi, Dalton's when he is fighting on top the car in Gibraltar, Brosnan's during the tank chase and Craig's during the DB5 reveal.

Unfortunately, much as I like LTK, I must admit that there are indeed some 'uncomfortable acting moments' in this film. Most notably for me are the exchanges between Dalton and Lowell (on the boat post-bar fight, in the hotel, and of course most cringeworthy of all at the end of the film). If they were trying to top TLD's ending for 'cheese', then they definitely succeeded. It was a sad way for Dalton to go out imho.

I'll have to look out for the iguana line next time I watch the film.

I wish I could bow out of anything by having an intimate moment with Carey Lowell soak and wet in a pool, the blinky fish notwithstanding. What a woman.

Not sure where else to post this, but I just came across something truly amusing.

I am considering purchasing the cult 1960 series entitled Danger Man starring Patrick McGoohan, which I'm unfamiliar with, but have heard of.

I decided to check out an episode on youtube and so did a google search.

The very first clip I came across has a scene which includes Miss Taro, General Gogol, Professor Dent, & Lazar all in one room! Ironically, this was made in 1961, prior to DN. I guess I'll definitely be buying this.

That's great! There were a ton of Bond actors on Danger Man. It's a pretty cool show.

One could argue that none of the Bond's who played him multiple times had a brilliant send off.

Connery in DAF. While it's a guilty pleasure of mine I don't think anyone would say it's Connery's best.
Moore is AVTAK. He was looking long in the tooth. the story had some good elements it's not Sir Rog's best Bond by a long shot.
Dalton LTK. As discussed above the movie had a TV quality feel. Almost like a Miami Vice episode. Not Dalton's best film.
Brosnan in DAD...do I need to say anything here?

My question, who will be the first Bond actor to go out leaving us wanting more?

Admiring Bond's shirt when he's sitting at the bar on the beach in SF I realised he's wearing the exact same clothes in M's apartment the dirty bugger!

Wouldn't have liked to have been sat next to him on the plane back from wherever he was!

A shower really must have been in order if M could smell him from across the room.

Where was he on that beach? Don't think a country is mentioned in the film..?

Bet it was a long flight though!
