An outstanding book- I didn't think at this point I'd ever come across an 007 title that would cover new ground for me- but this one does. A deep dive into behind the scenes, lots of John Barry.

I'm halfway through it. Very entertaining, light read, filled with wonderful little tidbits.

The most bizarre revelation for me is actually not music related: that UA mounted a For Your Consideration campaign to try and get Clifton James nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1973. Seriously.

Oh yes, Burlingame's The Music of James Bond is a fantastic read. Any fan of film music or of James Bond—or especially any fan of James Bond film music—should read it at once. I have the first edition that only runs up through Quantum of Solace. I'm anxious to read his chapter on Newman's Skyfall, but I think I'll wait until at least a couple more films are added until a buy a whole new edition.
