    Apparently Brosnan filmed one in 1986 before his Remington Steel contract clause pulled the plug.

    Interesting! I'd love to see both his screentest and gunbarrel from 1986 one day. Those gems have to come out someday.

    Wow! Didn't know that. They should add that as a feature to a future DAF Blu-ray someday. I was always curious what Gavin would have looked like in DAF; hairstyle, clothes etc.

    It's not a gun barrel walk, but there's a unique gun barrel design (doesn't feature in any of the films) in the TLD teaser trailer:

    I read somewhere that Dalton's workprint gunbarrel was used in a very rare TLD trailer. Anyone know about this?

    Oh god that's awful. That jump... it's like something out of a Roadrunner cartoon. I don't know who it was that decided to film a different take, but thank you. The walk, turn, and pose used in the film is infinitely superior.

    I know that, I was just saying that while I don't like the Simmons gunbarrel, that alternate Dalton gunbarrel is unintentionally comical in the jump, and how his legs spread out for the pose. But the one that was used for the films, the walk, turn and pose are perfect

    I think someone threw a firework at Dalton's arse and made him jump like that..probably an April Fools Day joke.

    I would say that Dalton was paying tribute to Simmons' gunbarrel. Not only was he a fan of the early films, he wanted to make return to that spirit.

    The used gunbarrel also looks a bit like Connery's stance from TB-DAF. I am quite convinced this was all done on purpose by Tim.

    I actually wonder if perhaps Binder gave each actor various directions when filming the GB. Tossed around different ideas then chose what he liked.
    Each actor had a radically different pose during the Binder era: Simmons slight hop, Connery balancing himself, Laz on one knee, Rog with 2 hands, Tim's sort of thrusting stance. The later Kleinman poses are all more similar:one hand, upright for the most part and so forth. I preferred Pierce's two handed TND trailer pose a bit more than his final version actually.

    I prefer that too...Brosnan looked good in the 2-handed pose.

    I suppose there are only so many ways one can walk, turn, and fire a gun directly at the camera, but I always liked that Simmons', Sean's, George's and Roger's were all distinctly different from one another.
    That issue of Stalog magazine from 1987 with Dalton on the cover shows how cool something like that pose might have looked. I can remember a generic image of Bond at the time that utilized Moore's pose for the FYEO poster with a generic face in place of Roger's. That image of Bond pointing the gun -left arm out wearing the black dinner suit, is pretty iconic and would probably look great in a gunbarrel sequence. I wonder if there is indeed another unused Dalton GB with that pose?

    I don't think there is that much similarity between the Connery & Dalton gunbarrels. During his pose, Connery lowers his centre of gravity, further than Dalton, to the point where he has a noticeable wobble. His (Connery) left arm is held straight out, with his hand pointed slightly upwards, while Dalton holds his left arm at at his side.

    I Heard that the non-official Bond film Never Say Never Again was originally going to have a gun barrel sequence at the beginning but due to the fact that the sequence is copyrighted by EON, they opted for the red 007 logos opening.

    I'm not sure if Connery filmed a gun barrel for NSNA, but according to the liner notes of the CD release of the NSNA soundtrack, the first track titled "Bond back in action" was the track meant for the planned NSNA gun barrel.

    Wish they used this one instead of the one in the final.
    I Like the pose of Pierce holding the gun with both his hands.
