He has a very similar jawline to Brosnan, it seems.

If cast, I hope he employs a voice coach.

Very rough. I'll make a good one eventually. He's never clean shaven. The source (image is seven years old):

I wouldn't mind to see a bearded Bond tbh.

Just feel he has great range. Also, spoilers for Bullet Train if you haven’t seen it.

I agree, @Denbigh! He was excellent in Bullet Train and potential Bond material in my opinion.

He have the looks, I saw him with his short hair and little beard or near shaven.
    This guy have a potential.

This was him clean shaven in The King's Man which I shared recently.

And it's definitely the best reference to use to see what he could look like as Bond.

Just quickly put this together with a logo I'd made a little bit ago based on the 60th one.

It's nice to have a new rumour to talk about in this thread.
Not sure how I feel about ATJ, but he's a solid actor and worthy of a screen test

If Johnson ticks all the boxes EON requires for the new direction, then they should go with him. I've always felt the shadow of the James Bond role is bigger than any actor. Which is good news, because once an actor becomes Bond, that shadow sort of engulfs him and he begins to look and feel the part.

Taylor-Johnson was in Kick Ass and The Kings Man both directed by Matthew Vaughan and he was on the producers radar to direct Bond in 2005 . Could he be back in contention with Johnson as Bond? Just a thought

I have to say, I'm not into Vaughn's current style of filmmaking. His old style was really good. But his current style is almost cartoonish. I'm not sure such style would suit even the most outlandish Bond film. He needs his Layer Cake, Stardust and X-Men: First Class self back.

Funnily enough I happened to see him and his wife in an empty corridor at the Sound of 007 concert last month at the Albert Hall, so I can certainly believe he's on Eon's radar.
But if they don't have a director yet it feels a bit unlikely. Maybe they're using a friendly director just for tests.. I dunno though.

If in between projects, it’s not inconceivable that Martin Campbell would come in to direct the “ From Russia With Love” test with various candidates. At this point it would be second nature and I’m sure it pays well. It’s also a way to begin evaluating candidates even if the future direction of the next era hasn’t been finalized.

It would be awesome if he were someway involved in B26.

I reckon Johnson possesses the physicality they are consciously or subconsciously looking for. The audience, the younger crowd they want to attract, demand/ expect action on a Mission Impossible level. As Barbara and Michael have mentioned Bond adapts to the times we are living in and attracting younger crowds is of a 'certain' level of importance. Johnson seems like a safe bet.

Personally I'm not very fond of him, very middle of the road, no commanding voice or the right look, nor charisma. However I would understand if he'd be the next Bond. To me he wouldn't be true/ literary Bond, rather an action hero under the guise of Bond.

I can kind of talk myself into them using a different process this time, placing more focus on the actor and then developing from there. So instead of treatment/tone -> director -> actor (i.e. A script based on Casino Royale with a much more grounded tone, directed by Martin Campbell -> Daniel Craig), they go actor -> tone -> director -> script.
They obviously have at least an unspoken list (we all have one. There are many, but still only a finite number of eligible candidates) and if they are really at a bit of a loss concerning the future direction of the franchise, they may throw a few screentests at the wall, see what sticks and from there look for a director to make a film around this and then have Purvis and Wade, the director and some hired gun script doctors hammer out a shooting script.
I don't think it would be the right approach, but I also don't think it's impossible they go that way.

Yeah, although this sounds a little unlikely, I certainly wouldn't like to say it's impossible- they may well be doing it this way now. I'm sure these tabloids do have links into the entertainment world, I wouldn't like to say they get nothing right.

I’ve watched several interviews with ATJ ; he seems like a very personable fellow and a very serviceable actor. But I just can’t get past his voice. All of the previous actors have had one thing in common, a good , strong voice;yes, even Lazenby. It’s a quality that I want in the next actor.

All but Brosnan then? I have never found his voice particularly strong or masculine.

Comes across as whispery to me, yes, it's a bit weak to me.

Compared to ATJ he has a deep baritone.

Obviously, bad sample size as it's only one film and he is doing an accent, but yeah:

    Looks great, tough.
