  • @slide_99 , personally I thought Brosnan was head and tails better in TND , than the unsure performance he, IMO, put forth in GE. And have you seen NTTD yet? I'm assuming you haven't, and if that's the case, I'm not sure you can judge all of the …
  • Read the full Deadline article @Mendes4Lyfe . Not the bits you want. Even in that article, they still state the expectation is that we will strike. The article also states that the WGA will be asking for strike action this week. We are a long …
  • Signs have been positive during week two that discussions are ongoing, after a very bad week one. But; The WGA will be asking members to authorize the strike this week…. Although there was good momentum in discussions this weeks, the expectati…
  • @jetsetwilly I've no idea if the early scripts skewed closer to the YOLT novel. @Mendes4Lyfe , where exactly are you getting your information from? There have been some promising signs that discussions are continuing, but the WGA is still about t…

  • after Boyle’s dismissal l, and Fukunaga’s hiring, they attacked writing duties pretty aggressively and rolled out the shooting draft with efficiency (no matter what some may think of the final product; I’m strictly taking writing not the film).
  • @Venutius I'm really not sure the Paul Haggis hiring happened for NTTD. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm convinced that Scott Burns was the only uncredited script doctor on NTTD and that, after a P&W early draft, the heavy lifting ther…

  • You've cornered me, lol...
  • Or leave the cinema groaning...
  • I respectfully disagree @Mendes4Lyfe ... Wright is a man-child and sees things throught that lense-- and he's good at it. But Bond needs a little more weight behind him, whether it's a silly adventure or not.
  • @Mendes4Lyfe i wasn’t talking about the depth in any Bond film, but the lack of depth I find in Wright’s films. I enjoy his films as live action cartoons. James Bond is a British agent with a licence to kill. With that comes a certain gravitas th…
  • I like Wright a lot. Just not sure he has the creative depth. Much of his work is surface level amusement (and quality amusement at that); but scratch the surface and there’s just not a lot there.
  • I think you’re overthinking this @Mendes4Lyfe … as the Stoics say: we do more damage in our imagination than what is happening in real life. EoN knows what they have to do and that’s why I think there’s been a lot of radio silence coming out of E…
  • @Mendes4Lyfe … it’s James Bond with a new actor. The worldwide audience won’t care about Oscar winning cinematographers or directors or costumes or make up. I’m pretty sure this IP sells itself.
  • It's clear that many critics and audiences weren't in love with Tenet. If Oppenheimer is a well-shot bore and continues along the trajectory that most of Nolan films have been travelling down for the past decade, then this isn't the wisest decisi…
  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Patrice already in his car escaping? Doesn't Moneypenny tell Bond what car he's in,and they continue pursuing him?

  • One month left until the WGA contract expires... And two days left of March—“ sources” say ATJ was to be announced this month (after “wowing” EoN, he shot the famous gun barrel, which will also be unveiled at his March announcement). Have …
  • Lol @j_w_pepper ... I always appreciate the company!!
  • Though movies which are super long and about one person can be boring af. Yah, Nolan’s specialty!
  • Dunno which one is the smartest, but I’ve always felt the dumbest Bond was Lazenby. I love OHMSS, but there’s not too much going on behind those eyes (except for barely contained lust for every good looking woman who crosses his path)…

  • @ShakenNotStirred … I see what you’re saying. Not sure if I wholly agree that goofy cheese and fun will make for more creative writing, but I do see the point you’re making.
  • Why try and and do what’s done before @ShakenNotStirred ? Different talent in front of, and behind the cameras. Trying to make something like 60s Connery or 70/80s Moore? That’s just death.
