    I'm not sure I like the way he draws Bond's suits, as it sounds like it's an anime drawing. But, I'll be getting the series quite alright. Still better than Black Box's artwork.

    Possibly could be called Oddjob. Would be something different that's for sure! I'm happy that Dynamite is finally bringing together all the promises they made from the start. Modern day Bond, Young WW2 Bond and Ian Fleming novels being turned into graphic novels. What a time to be a 007 reader!

    I don't imagine the violence being a big issue, but definitely the racial overtones needing some toning. I mean, it's not likely to disappear one hundred percent.

    I see your point about racism overtones. Van Jensen said he had problems with dialogue and text in CR. It makes me curious how they are going to pull this off. We know at least LALD is coming from Dynamite. If they are bringing back Oddjob, I wouldn't be surprised if they were already planning Goldfinger.

    If Oddjob is clearly coming back, I see two ways Dynamite comics could write his survival, if the storyline takes place after Goldfinger. First from the book version. Oddjob could have had a hidden parachute with him, as he was sucked from the plane itself. He could have used it and gone into hiding. Second from the film version. When he was electrocuted, the shock simply knocked him out. Then, the CIA took him in for questioning. He then manages an escape.

    Or could this all be a prequel that leads up to meeting Goldfinger who has a new scheme?

    When do you think they'll announce a title for this storyline?

    I think they're trying to keep the new comic's setting after the novels (but in a modern era). So, I would think he survived the fall from the plane. But it could be something else entirely.

    Oddjob Jr. Or OJ's brother, Badjob. Or, as @MaxCasino suggests, he could have simply survived either the novel or the movie's assumed death scene. It's comics, just pray that they don't do something completely outrageous like bringing in an Oddjob from an alternate Earth -- Earth 008.

    It's not exactly censorship--a comic adaptation can almost never adapt an entire novel, so the adapter must choose what to include and what to leave out. In the case of LALD, the repeated use of the n-word can be easily left out without hurting the integrity of the story. And to be honest, had Fleming's editors convinced him to leave out that sort of stuff before publication, it would have been for the best.

    Love the Mack cover, but I've got no interest in this really. Unless everyone here raves, I think I'll wait till the trade hits the library!

    You are of course right, but I suspect there is more to it than that, a pc revisionism a la Horowitz.

    Aside from Fleming's novels, which other novels should Dynamite adapt? I'm thinking Colonel Sun and the two Anthony Horowitz novels.

    Yes. They've proved their quality, but boy, they take their time. I think IFP cares more about Dynamite's quality then they have any of the continuation authors. Yes that includes Horowitz.

    I think Benson’s novels would make terrific comics, given that they do have that over the top Brosnan era flavour to them quite easily, which is possibly why I love them.

    I'm starving for new Bond comics so i will buy them both day 1.
    But in all honesty i am much more hyped for Oddjob than i am for Origin, everything about it looks just perfect to me. But i hope they will both be worth it.

    They do :). One thing that worries me about Oddjob is a twist like Spectre or shudder Iron man 3. Hype up the character, then do take a risk that doesn't work. I trust Dynamite as they haven't let me down yet. However, there's always a risk bringing back a long lost character, particularly with 007.

    I honestly haven't given a single thought to Oddjob's return yet, because if i did i would find it... odd.

    So far I simply enjoy the fact that this book is amazingly drawn, has plenty of style, features exotic lush locations and sexy females.
    Thats all i (will ever) need.

    Meanwhile, Bond appears in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen : The Tempest, the first issue being out now. I'll have to warn you, though : Bond fans are not going to like it any more than they liked The Black Dossier. Although, there's a scene that'll probably make some of us laugh (no spoilers, here).
