John Jarratt as Mick Taylor, the Outback pig hunter and serial killer antagonist of the Wolf Creek film and TV series.

Films:

Wolf Creek (2005)
Wolf Creek 2 (2013)
Wolf Creek 3 (TBC)

TV Series:

Wolf Creek Season 1 (2016)
Wolf Creek Season 2 (2017)

So, are there any fans of the two films or the TV series here? I've seen both of the films and am starting the recent TV series just now. It wouldn't be my normal choice of viewing as it is very gory but my friend got me into the films and I started to become a fan, though it is still very difficult for me to watch in places.

According to IMDb Wolf Creek 3 is in the works.

Anyway, here is the place to discuss the Wolf Creek series on film and TV.

I saw the original film. Are you really a fan of that?

Not the gore, but more of the Mick Taylor character.

Dragonpol's methods were a tad more sophisticated though. Horses for courses, as they say.

This scene from Wolf Creek 2 wouldn't be out of place in a 1970s Roger Moore Bond film:

Never realised they made a second movie? Saw the first one, very disturbing but have to say I have recommended the film to a number of people. Been a fair few years since I watched it though.

Love Wolf Creek. Its a proper horror film that pulls no punches. Just like the original Texas Chainsaw, its gritty, realistic and gruelling.

The Mick Taylor character is also horribly real, played so well by Jarratt.

I also liked the slow build up of the film and the eerie expanse of Wolf Creek itself.

I thought the sequel was worthless and looked like one of Wolf Creek's own imitators.

Didn't know there was a TV series.

I find it particularly disturbing that the first film is inspired by real events.

The second film says it is too. There's more of a Bradley Murdoch element to it. I'm sure we all remember that case from July 2001.

This is what really is disturbing about the piece! Also why I wanted to watch it above all else!

    I found it tasteless.

It is a difficult watch, certainly. Not usually the sort of thing I'd go in for had my friend not introduced me to it.

Of course. He kind of insisted. I felt compelled to watch by the knife at my throat.

That's why my wife only enjoys horror films about monsters or ghosts etc.
As these are make believe creatures, so are fun. Where as these Serial Killer
type movies, have and could happen. Which she finds unsettling

I can see her point of course, but their reality makes them much more interesting to me as a true crime fan. I don't like things to be too fantastical generally speaking. I know, this coming from a Bond fan, but I'm sure you get what I mean.

I too enjoy a good serial killer movie or detective story. In fact I used to
read loads of the old True Crime magazines, which had some really
disturbing cases in them. There are Monsters out there but they're all
    Human.
