    Yes I know he didn't want to do the scene but he still carried it off pretty well IMO.

    Cant have people knocking the living legend that is the Laz.

    The bloke is genius. He basically walked in off the street and through a mixture of cheek, force of personality and arrogance he blagged the biggest role in cinema from nowhere. And its that combination that made him such an awesome Bond.

    I seriously dont think people realise the chutzpah and cojones this actually took. No wonder the bloke was a bit full of himself and blew it. I think we'd all strut around thinking we were invincible if we had pulled off such a feat.

    George is a class act and no mistake.

    He got on well with the stuntmen and even they seemed to like him. Even Richard Graydon thought Lazenby was professional to a degree. Just not as much as Connery and later Moore.

    Laz has said himself that he did behave like a bit of a big time charlie on set but who wouldnt at that age after having blagged the biggest part in cinema history and then having Harry throwing wads of cash at him and telling him he was going to be a star? And with 12 goregous girls knocking around the set all the time? And Telly and the stuntmen to play cards with? It must have been like winning the lottery.

    I agree though that the stuff like dicking about on horses and going skiing wasnt very professional and didnt endear him to the likes of Bernard Lee and Cubby. But then if he had been totally sensible he would have thought like the rest of us and never gone up for the part instead of thinking to himself 'I am going to be the next James Bond and f**k anyone who says otherwise.' Without such an attitude he never would have got past the door at EON.

    Laz bascially shows you that anything is possible if you just have enough confidence and go for it and for that he should be saluted.

    Well, I'll say it this way. I prefer Moore, Brosnan, and Dalton before I even consider Connery.

    Now I like all the bonds, I just like some more than others. Craig might move up depending on how skyfall is. I'm just waiting to see more from him.

    the vicissitudes of life have me at their mercy innit? Lezza was the wrong Bond in the wrong film. OHMSS is one of my favs but it should have been SC's last film. The 70s films would have suited GL.

    Laz was ok. He had potential but, let's be honest, wasnt as fun as the others. He had the HUGE advantage of being surrounded by a great film.

    My favs:
    1) Sean Connery
    2) Daniel Craig
    3) Roger Moore
    4) Timothy Dalton
    5) Pierce Brosnan
    6) George Lazenby (but I do not really care for him in the role)

    Sean is #1 for being Bond, the inconic first and strong Bond that set the world on fire and made this franchise a go. Especially for Dr. No, FRWL.
    And having made this list, I do want to say that I like Brosnan.
    Sure Moore's last film was not very good and he was past it then. But overall, I enjoy his films and his portrayal of Bond a lot. I like Craig's Bond very much; looking forward to more. I wish Timothy had done more, he was good. And I like Brosnan in GE and TND a lot. Timothy and Pierce are almost a tie for me.

    I like Lazenby more than OHMSS itself. OHMSS was a good Bond film for the most part, but could also be dreadfully boring at points. It also didn't explain a few things, such as Campbell. The movie seems to just let you guess who he is, which bothered me a bit. When I first saw OHMSS, I though Campbell was a henchman for SPECTRE for some reason.

    I think one thing that really boosts Laz is John Barrys melody. Everytime that comes on I get a little lump in my throat. Never underestimate the power of music.
