No Sean Connery movies making 50th Anniversary stamps selection

The official 007 website has been asking fans to vote for their favourite UK quad movie posters from all 22 James Bond films, and the voting so far has not been kind to the Sean Connery eta. Not one single film starring the Scot is currently in the top 10, which will feature in a commemorative sheet of Royal Mail first class stamps in May. None of Pierce Brosnan's four films are making the cut, either.

Voting closes on January 27th, so be sure to <a href="http://www.007.com/vote/royalmail/"; target="_blank">vote for your favourite posters soon</a>.

    All moore except for three, wow, that's harsh. Perhaps Dr No will make the cut anyway, no matter what, being the first ever bond film and the one that the producers are talking about the most.... :-?

    Only a few days ago it was almost the complete opposite of that, almost all the Connery films were in the top 10.

    Some of the best designs aren't up for the vote anyway. Hope Connery catches up with that. Won't comment on the photoshop posters, not my cuppa.

    Really odd that the results have changed so rapidly: get the feeling its the work of trolls trying to keep Connery, Brosnan and Craig out of the top 10 (especially strange because License To Kill used to be the very bottom, and OHMSS wasn't too far above it!)

    I think getting the general public to vote was a bad idea. Just get a panel to select the best cross section of the past 50 years with at least a poster from each Bond and be done with it. The fact that you can vote as many times as you like is a bit of a dud too, as you can just imagine some lone Moore fan sitting at his computer voting every few minutes.

    ??????????? Wow? i find that astonishing! From my point of view i think each actor should have atleast 1 film represented! All of them contributed to the franchise whether people liked their films or not?

    Then they should have let the fans select the rest available! Having said that? i do not see why they could not have done the whole set anyway?

    Rather than having the public vote perhaps a better decision could've been made by panel of dedicated Bond fans, the producers, the Royal Mail themselves, maybe even a former Bond artist or two.

    I completely understand wanting the public to have a say (in such a big year for all Bond fans), but not if it means the best posters don't get chosen.

    Having the entire set would be even better.

    The entire set would be better: or if they still want the voting option they should have made it that there are six stamps (one for each Bond) and you voted for your favourite for each Bond (being the 50th anniversary I think it makes sense for each Bond to have a stamp)

    Personally I think Dr. No is a must, afterall it is really the 50th anniversary of Dr. No we are celebrating.

    Bit flummoxed as to why this is even a headline?? i love connery, but it's quiet shameless, can't imagine it getting a mention were there no Dalton flicks in the top 10

    I sort of half agree with you, maybe would have been better to say only 3 of the 6 actors to play bond will have their posters as stamps? But i still definitely think this is a news worthy topic.

    Not <i>that</i> surprising really. The Moore era had the best poster artworks (+ TLD).

    But sure, one or two Connery Bonds deserve top 10 too.

    As stated above the shock isn't so much that 70% of the top 10 is Moore, but how quickly it changed from being fairly equal parts Connery and Moore (along with Craig, Dalton and Brosnan) to being all Moore with Dalton and Lazenby! (For example a couple of days ago LTK was at the bottom and OHMSS was only a few places above it)

    But I agree the Moore era has some fine art (the FYEO poster is one of the most iconic) I just personally think every era should be represented! (rather than having mostly Moore or mostly Connery)

    I have to agree with the post that trolls are taking over the votes. The Connery era posters are far and away the best, particularly Thunderball through DAF. I did vote for one Moore poster, LALD, along with TWINE and CR. The rest were Connery/Lazenby.

    The LTK poster is a travesty. Especially when compared to the first three Cnnery's.

    Make's sense to have all six actors that played bond included. i am not a fan of brosnan though would not omit him. if connery is not included i would buy them Lol

    That poster is class, always preferred cinema art work over having photos of the bond actor on the posters.

    That would be fantastic. Don't think chances are anything remotely realistic. The current fashion is just the easy computerised way. Not sure if they even have some decent artists for this kind of job any more. Shame though.

    I've just voted and the current running order seems to be reasonably sensible. Casino Royale is first, which doesn't really make sense, but the others are mostly good choices.

    I almost died when I heard this and thought voting had ended. Thankfully there's still a week left to vote and now the top 10 has been turned on it's head.

    That really confuses me too. I would have thought but now the order would be near enough set where it is...
