    Fleming had many potential titles in his notes which he considered using like "My Enemy's Enemy is my Friend".

    Eon have access to Fleming's story, idea notes etc.

    Gustav Graves... step outside your world... there is more to Fleming than those four titles, as the true fan knows. Perhaps work your domain name magic to confirm for us DLAE... I'm itching to see for myself if what I'm hearing is true.

    Again, a magnificent title....if it's true. But apparently it is :-D!

    Wikipedia... DLAE is one of the few useable ones remaining. The rest are clunkers that he rejected for good reason, like Undertaker's Wind (fart concept) and Man's Work (like a Tim Allen sitcom) or B movie (Infernal Machine). That leaves a few choices. Purvis and Wade have proven they are not up to the task of coining a Bond title.

    I'm not, @RC7. :) Waiting for verification of course. I do like it as a title very much, though, and I hope this is true. Definitely a longer title for a Bond film (thinking back now: AVTAK; YOLT; TWINE). So maybe due for longer. I just like the sound of it.

    Re P&W: It is not up to the writers to give the Bond film its title. That is - I think - mainly the producer's decision, although I'm sure they include others in the discussion.

    Well, it was Wade who came up with the title Skyfall, so it's certainly still possible the genesis of the title lies with Logan or P&W, or as you say B&M. The studio also have a massive say.

    There's nothing wrong with emotions. They are always present with these important upcoming news updates about new Bond films. You know I'm an emotional lad as well (It's very damn obvious :-P). Still, I must conclude that "Death Leaves An Echo" hasn't been registered at all yet as domain by Sony/MarkMonitor. The title nowadays is even registered to a band/song.

    Unless @StoneShi comes up with proof of the acronym "DLAE", we can not confirm anything yet....and we need to wait a cruel 24 hours :-O.

    No, certainly not. I'm not actually sure who has final say, but I would imagine it's up to B&M to pitch to the studio and if the studio isn't sold it doesn't happen. I seem to remember the studio eventually went for QoS because the marketing guy suggested they could work in the 007 logo, ala CR.

    I think, when it comes down to creating a new Bond title, the creative team always have the first and final say over it. I don't believe marketeers and Sony are waiting for Michael's and Bab's head to be chopped off when they come up with a title full of, uhmm, "inuendo". Did Pickert and UA/MGM called Cubby back when they decided to use soft porn title "Octopussy"? Nah, don't worry guys, this process is save within all these brainstorm sessions of the creative team (Babs, Michael, Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and the scriptwriters).

    No one is saying the studio create the title, that is down to the creative team, but the studio can veto titles. So what might be the producers first choice, ends up being binned in favour of the studios preferred title.
