  • 009 in octopussy?

Thought of him after seeing @Rogertheclowns avatar :D
  • Kristatos? I-can't-believe-it's-not-Blofeld from FYEO?

I really thought "pivotal figures" meant it was Whitaker.

#1 I am a figure of quite significant importance

#2 I was told to do something

#3 I was told not to do something

#4 You won't see me in 'The Safety Dance'

#5 I saw, which is (or was), essentially, the very title of that years release

#6 Something very dangerous got a little too close to me

#7 Some people may think I'm not a very nice or helpful person

#8 My name, or who I am, is mentioned at least once

#9 I got very close to (another) most pivotal and significant character of that years release

#10 The sky was a multitude of expansive and effervescent colors

#11 Half of what I am, or who I am, provided some serious danger or jeopardy to myself

#12 I can usually sleep easy after dark

#13 I was asked to investigate something, the results were, that someone was pleased, and that someone was not too happy

#14 The final scenes I witnessed were a scene of mayhem and confusion

#15 I can usually be associated with a particular color

#16 I could of been in Rising Sun, but not with Sean Connery

#17 Someone, although not quite benevolent, was always pleased to see me

#18 Depeche Mode may well be a favorite music act of mine, if only for one particular release

#19 I came after Carter, but before Clinton

#20 A most unfortunate incident took place, where you couldn't see my legs

#21 Some quite pivotal figures came down to see me - in the almost literal sense

#22 There were to be, no prisoners of the sun

#23 I was in the right place for a war, but this sure wasn't Vietnam. But could of been, if only you had added an extra number

#24 Some people were, where they shouldn't have been

#25 I couldn't start, but I was just about finished

#26 I'm not your usual average encounter on the street

#27 Revenge is a dish best served very hot

#28 Someone was going west, some people were going north (true to say), I was most likely going south (in a sense), or maybe just up, as a general direction

#29 Someone was trying to get away. And they did, they got away

#30 Think of a number. A specific number, less than the clues hitherto presented

these are the clues in full as to who this character is

all most recent responses are incorrect, including General Orlov, Sanchez, Pushkin, Whitaker, any Moons, Dowar, Dufour, Dario, Della Churchill, Leiter, Bouvier, Paris Carver, Kwang, Giacinta Johnson, Holly Goodhead, Damien Falco, Patrice or Domino Derval

This will go sooner or later, in that it has to

    Is it Sheriff J.W. Pepper?
    - Clifton is after Carter and before Clinton.
    - He is associated with red.
    - There are some South references (21, 28).
    - You can't see his legs when he falls to the river.
    - He could have started a Vietnam in Thailand!

You can add JW Pepper to the list of incorrect responses

as with, 009, Aris Kristatos, or Fields. There's one clue I wish in retrospect I hadn't put up, as it does give away an awful lot or tie it to one particular release, but some will be aware of what that will be without need of a mention

There's no chance in hell this will pass the legendary 50 clues from before, but even then, I don't think I could supply very much more for this character in question

    goodnight

Sooner this is done, the sooner I can get going. All the most recent entries are incorrect. That is, Tee Hee, Zao and Mayday

Just going wild for clues now, to get this finalized

#31 I was not really an animal, except for one moment

#32 I arrived at a worrying time for someone

#33 I didn't have the stomach for battle

#34 Someone proved to be a handful

#35 I like silence, in more ways than one

#36 I saw a killer, in more ways than one

#37 Prevention, was not the word of the day

#38 I could be a bit rough handed

#39 A moment of lost concentration, proved fatal

#40 I could of been going to Belgrade. In the end, I went to pieces

guessing someone may get this soon. Good luck to any participants

Wrong era; look at the other clues. After Carter, Before Clinton.

    OK: Rosika Miklos in TLD?

That's LALD though, before Carter ...
oh I basically give up, truly.

Though I am dying to know the answer to this one.

I feel you are focusing too much on dates in time, something I am quite sure our astute and devious @Baltimore wishes. I however am deducing based upon alphabetization.

Wait..why am I even playing this little game anyway? I know fully well that the moment this mystery is solved @Baltimore will be departing this site for the foreseeable future, and I am simply accelerating the process by throwing my hat into the ring and therefore raising the number of participants. It seems my love of Sherlock Holmes has made the mystery irresistible to me, and for that I have no cure.

This one is really bugging me, so many clues yet I am still guessing.
    How about Claus from FYEO?

He definitely fits with a few of the clues. :-?

    Elliot Carver

It's not Claus from For Your Eyes Only, Vijay from Octopussy or Elliot Carver from Tomorrow Never Dies, or even Donald Grant, Rosika pipeline worker or Rosie Carver

more clues that may be useful to those participating

#41 Sometimes I wasn't even aware of what was going on under my nose

#42 There seemed to be a lot of suspicious faces in the vicinity

#43 I was in the 'middle' of an extreme situation

#44 I missed out on some excitement, but only had myself to blame

#45 I'm not a fan of Jim Morrison

If it's going to be the last one, may as well make it a good one and try to break that 50 clue target from before. This has to go, sooner or later

    Stamper ?
  • Tracy? Professor Dent? Morzeny? One of Kerim Bey's sons? Colonel Heller?
  • How about Anthony Chin, the taiwanese businessman who went through the trapdoor of Zorin's airship in AVTAK? Worth a try

What's with the middle response. Why doesn't he just name every character that's ever appeared in the James Bond franchise while we're at it ? Void answer/s

One attempt a turn, as always

It's not Stamper or Anthony Chin (and I was watching that moment incidentally very recently, I wasn't aware of his name however, but that's not who you're looking for)

I don't think I am able to get this back to 50 clues again, as simply given away maybe all there is, but stay tuned

    Heller?

It's not Colonel Heller, and I've truly had enough for one night

Keep at it. Won't be long now

    Kananga?
That was Kennedy and Nixon. Respectively. Or maybe the clue in question was merely a red herring ?

It is not Morzeny, and it is not Dr Kananga. (It's not even Mr Big since we're at it)

    More attempts are always encouraged

I'd advise the next few minutes would be a good time

    Is it Willard Whyte?

Sorry, I was just going into cardiac arrest

No, it's not Willard Whyte, but thanks for playing

Take your time with subsequent answers - no rush
