  • What about a 'Bond gets water on him' classification, this is perhaps mundane and absurd but I don't really care [-(

    Bond gets saturated -

    Thunderball
    Diamonds are Forever
    For Your Eyes Only
    A View To A kill
    License To Kill
    The World Is Not Enough
    Die Another Day
    Casino Royale

Bond gets drenched but not necessarily enough to warrant a saturation-

    Dr No
    You Only Live Twice
    on Her Majestys Secret Service
    Live and Let Die
    Moonraker
    Octopussy
    Tomorrow Never Dies

bond gets a bit wet but nothing too serious

The man with the Golden Gun
    The Spy who loved me
    Goldeneye

Bond gets a few splashes on him but nothing to complain about, or I can't remember or don't really care

    From Russia with Love
    Goldfinger
    The Living Daylights
    Quantum of Solace

@St_George: Nice orderings by location! I'll have to try the American one sometime!

    Lol, nice list :D

I'd like to add the 'Bond gets wet, but his Martini is still dry' classification:

    Never Say Never Again ;)

    Cool…

    Fleming

    Doctor No
    From Russia With Love
    Thunderball
    On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
    Live And Let Die
    For Your Eyes Only
    Octopussy
    The Living Daylights
    Licence To Kill
    Casino Royale
    Quantum of Solace

    Fantasy

    Goldfinger
    You Only Live Twice
    Diamonds Are Forever
The Man With The Golden Gun
    The Spy Who Loved Me
    Moonraker
    A View to a Kill
    GoldenEye
    Tomorrow Never Dies
    The World Is Not Enough
    Die Another Day

I wonder which, my fellow MI6'ers, you would choose? Fleming or Fantasy?
@royale65: Good list! I'd have to pick Fleming's list on that note, since a good number of my favorites are from that classification. I do like some of the fantasy, like DAF, TSWLM, AVTAK, GE, and TND.

    @royale 65 Great list!
But with your permission I would like to recode your nominal classification into a continuous scale of the degree of fantasy, which is of course correctable according to your kind suggestions:
    Degree of fantasy
+Moonraker, You Only Live Twice, Die Another Day
    | The Man with the Golden Gun
    | Live and Let Die
    | Goldfinger
    | Diamonds Are Forever
    | The Spy Who Loved Me, Octopussy
    | Dr No
    | A View to a Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough
    | Thunderball, GoldenEye
    | For Your Eyes Only, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall(?)
    | From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Living Daylights
    - Casino Royale, Licence to Kill

However, it would be perhaps more appropriate - in methodology terms - to rank them according to pre-define variables like: number of gadgets, larger-than-life villain, plot plausibility, space-elements... etc. Then build and index and we can make the classification of fantasy.

@0013: Good rankings on that note! The only thing I don't understand is LALD. Why is it so high up on the fantasy? It was pretty low-key and normal to me, I mean, what with the drug plot and all. There were no big lasers and over-the-top action sequences really.

Perhaps I was thinking in terms of supernatural, voodoo and Samedi, but I think you're right and it deserves a lower fantasy degree.
By the way, Skyfall was temporary placed there because it wasn't released yet. Now I think it deserves this spot:

    Degree of fantasy (revisited)
    +Moonraker, Die Another Day
    | You Only Live Twice
    | The Man with the Golden Gun
    | The Spy Who Loved Me, Diamonds Are Forever
    | Live and Let Die
    | Goldfinger
    | Dr No, Octopussy
    | A View to a Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough
    | Thunderball, GoldenEye
    | For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights
    | From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Skyfall
    - Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Licence to Kill

    Bond Girls

    Agents

    You Only Live Twice
The Man With The Golden Gun
    The Spy Who Loved Me
    Moonraker
    Licence to Kill
    Tomorrow Never Dies
    Die Another Day
    Quantum of Solace

    Damsels in Distress

    From Russia With Love
    Thunderball
    Live and Let Die
    A View To A Kill
    The Living Daylights
    GoldenEye

    Independent Women

    Dr No
    Goldfinger
    Diamonds are Forever
    For Your Eyes Only
    Octopussy
    The World Is Not Enough

    Strong Emotional Ties

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    Casino Royale

SkyFall Bond girl is difficult as there isn't one as such. Moneypenny would place easily in the Agent group where as Severine would place in the Damsel in Distress category (in my opinion)

    GoldenEye

I think he has one in OHMSS and I do believe Bond has one on in the climax of Skyfall (as he is preparing for a fight with Silva).

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    The Living Daylights
    Goldeneye
    Tomorrow Never Dies
    Die Another Day
    Casino Royale
    Quantum Of Solace
    Skyfall

    Lotus

In AVTAK, when he comes in the morning to Zorin's office to select the horse. I believe in SF it maybe is a scarf, though I could be wrong.

I cannot take credit for this classifying, I owe it all to that member Kerim:

    GOLDEN AGE
    DN-OHMSS

    FOOLS GOLD AGE
    DAF-MR

    SILVER AGE
    FYEO-LTK

    GOLDEN SHOWERS AGE
    GE-DAD

I always LMFAO whenever i think of this Kerim, you're beautiful man! :)

Yes, he definitely has one in AVTAK, though it is a little hard to spot.
