    - Currently second on my list, and one of my all-time favourite movies, wheras FYEO isn't as good or as exciting in my opinion, and would never even come close to an all-time favourite movie list of mine...

    Both classic Bond entries for sure. But CR is superior to FYEO in almost every regard.

    well I thought about it but Moore in FYEO gets the vote, Craig's best film was his first by a country mile and I did enjoy it, but the early bits with Bond chasing the bomber around Madagascar and leaping around tall buildings seemed a bit far fetched, it did keep me interested, but the pre credits sequence were a total letdown and the whole movie appeared to be 'the beginning of bond and scrap all what went before'

    Eyes wins as it has a very good teaser, the helicopter ride etc. Lots to keep the viewer busy, and is considered by many to be one of the best Moore ever did

    The end bit with the monastery climb drags on and Julian Glover makes for an awful bad guy but that aside, one of the better Bond features

    Got to say I was torn for the reasons you describe Baltimore_007. I have a real love of FYEO. Difficult choice for me.

    the opening credits were an important factor, first saw it in theaters when it came out and I remember at the time how thrilled I was with the sky sequence over London, dropping Blofeld down the incinerator was stupid as hell however, they could have left that bit out, and the Easton song was murder but as said, plenty to get involved in and it did have a memorable bit with the bob sleigh run and some notable heavies

    Casino Roayle for sure. But I also loved For Your Eyes Only. Great Bond film.

    Sorry, but Moore cannot compete with Craig. Not in the slightest degree. I love Moore's TMWTGG & OP, but even they were Flint movies compared with Craig's efforts.

    hardly suprised by the current score, but hey FYEO for me, classic Bond film done in the classic way!

    FYEO did not age that well. It always cracks me up how the camera swerves in the scene with Bond and Columbo on the boat to give the impression of a rocking boat. I hate the parrot and the final joke with maggie Thatcher. Apart from that, FYEO was always fun to watch, Roger at his best, I'd say.
    Nevertheless, CR for me, hands down.

    Despite my feeling to the overall era it's from, in recent months, i've grown to really like FYEO. The tone is a bit uneven with the humour, but it is an attempt to bring the films back to thrillers. And at the end of the day, it's not affaid to be a Bond film, not just a film, but a Bond film. FYEO wins.

    So adding the votes since @Monsieur_Aubergine's post, and with my own, that takes the scores up to:

    CR by miles. And I have a soft spot for FYEO as I've been to Meteora and toured the monasteries, but you have suffer the awful Bibi's incessant whining and some rather slow action in FYEO. CR's pacing is far better.

    I'm also going to have to go with FYEO. I actually think CR is a better film. Heck I love me some CR so this wasn't an easy choice at all. However my sentimental childhood attachment to all things 80's is just too strong. It's hard to top 80's Bond for me!

    Isn't there an 'all in one' thread for these rival Bond movie battles that was started by @Beast some time in the past ? Seems to be a lot of these springing up recently

    Have to choose Casino Royale, as it's simply the better release. FYEO is probably Moore's most serious Bond adventure and performance, and it's a good watch, but Craig's debut is hard to beat and is simply put, one of the very best the franchise has to offer. I went with that
