    Simply perfect.

Too much of a Sport car, friend.

But Bond needs a Refined "enterprised" car, not a super racing vehicle.

This thread has really made me think. I'm definitely on board with film Bond in a Bentley now, and since the start of the thread have changed my mind about Jaguar, wouldn't mind it now.

Bentley Continental GT Speed gets my vote though.

Haha, imagine if it is controversal: Bond brings this one intact!

Seeing this thread got me curious to check out a current Bentley- and I'm torn. On one hand it doesn't look like what we consider a 'Bond car' nowadays- but on the other hand it does indeed look like a gentleman's car. Like what a rich businessman would drive- which is what Bond's usual cover- so it could work! I'd be down for that car!

If Bond brought that one back without a scratch then this would be Q's reaction:

Hahaha, the right expression that he could show up.

But, which is the Bentley that you are talking about? Arnage?

Like what @Volante posted- and some others on google-- you know, current ones. They have potential

Oh Yes. Well i had said the last page that Bond for me would stick with the Astons, but now i'm seeing and realizing that These cars has the style. The greatest style for Bond. However would be strange for all the Bond fans to get costumed with a different car being drove by Bond. (which fact wasn't like that way at Brosnan era, with all the BMW's - because it even combined with the Brosnan's Bond; although the only pity was that the Z3 wasn't used in GE) But, still could be a good idea, now that i'm seeing it further.

That Bentley Continental GT @Volante posted up there looks mighty nice....
  • My favourite is the Lotus @Master_Dahark posted. Jag looks great too.

There's no way Major Boothroyd would sign a deal with BMW. No way.

MCLaren? For a SECRET Agent? Would call too much of attention.

For me, the Astons still with Bond.

Driving down the street with an Aston would call just as much attention as a Mclaren.

    My thoughts entirely.

That said, the Mclaren is a bit too flash IMO. Aston has the right level of luxuriousness while still being old-school understated-British in its styling.

Despite now being almost entirely foreign owned, I have to say that the British car industry still produces (IMO) some of the most desirable and good-looking cars around.

I don't think you can beat the Bentley Continental, Aston Martin DB9, Range Rover and Mini in their class. Very beautiful cars.

Would/should Bond be caught behind the wheel of a German made car?

Hard to say but in the MR novel at one point he is openly admiring Drax's Mercades, which is, if I'm not mistaken, a German car company (those who have read MR will know the background of Drax).

Nonetheless Fleming describes the car as "beatiful"

"The Mercades was a beautiful thing. Bond pulled his battered grey Bentley up alongside it and inspected it.

It was a Type 300 S the sports model with a disappearing hood, one of only half a dozen in England, he reflected. Left hand drive. Probably brought in Germany
..."Typical of Drax to buy a Mercedes. There was something ruthless and majestic about the cars, he decided, remembering the years from 1934 to 1939 when they had completely dominated the grand prix scene"

Seems that, regardless of the make/nationality, Fleming had high regard for a fancy car. Don't forget MR was published in the mid 50s - not long after the end of WW2. Even then Fleming was openly saying how much he liked these German cars.

007s car these days is governed by the money a car company pays eon.
He might be driving a korean sports car if the money is there for eon.

That´s more like it, I´m all with ya, @Volante!

Jaguar makes cool cars, but for Craig they are too slender.

Why should he drive a Jaguar exactly? Is there a specific model that is very Bond-like? Would the gadgets suit the car?

I don't know, just because Jaguars are nice cars and other people have driven Jaguars, doesn't mean Bond has to.
Well I know you approve but others do agree with me. I think Jaguar will suit Bond. So 007 deserves to drive a Jag for once. F-type I'm sure is the most talked about. I do wish Aston Martin again but I don't have my hope up for Aston in the next Bond film. I be somewhere middle of next year demanding he drives British Brand car. Jensen & Lotus may revive the Esprit & Elite first.

Some fantastic models there! Get the feeling they will stick with AM for now? When the role is recast? Maybe then they will try a new car make?
  • Many years ago I read that Eon had approached Jaguar to supply them with some cars, who more or less turned them down. They then approached Lotus who saw sense in the Bond connection, and the rest (as they say) is history.

Bond should be driving this mean looking car.

It sounds like your guys haven't seen the redesigned DB9.

    2013-Aston-Martin-DB9-5.jpg

It may just look like a slightly improved Virage, but it's hard to improve on perfection.

(Bond should have the hard top)
  • If he's going to be in a Jag, it should be the new CX75 hybrid:

Or drop him into the new Lotus Esprit Turbo:

If they put Bond back in a Lotus it will be the bravest, ballsiest, bestest thing they ever did.

Better. I even find the CX75 better than the Lotus.

You all heard that Jaguar has killing off their XK models. In the car magazine says they are planning 5 more new models in the pipeline. Very Soon their New LexusIS/BMW 3 series rival XE which replaces the X-type will be released in 2015 or 2016. The new F-type is hopefully for Bond 24 if he not getting his Aston Martin. The replacement is likely to be in 2017.

I've always been high on Bond driving a Bentley Continental GT, ever since Deavers had him driving one in Carte Blanche.... and for once, i would like them to use a color other than silver or gunmetal..... black would look really nice, hell i'd even take white - but silver is overdone..

Well call me a traditionalist but I'd much prefer to see James Bond in a Bentley. In fact it has been my banshee wail throughout the ages.

I saw it in other post in this web. I also saw in Autocar as well.
autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/jaguar-c-x75-star-upcoming-james-bond-film-spectre ,since DAD & Casino Royale including Quantum of Solace, only 1 Jaguar XJ. Skyfall was only his old M car which he swap to his Classic Aston Martin DB5.

I think that's been proved wrong by recent events.

With regards to Jaguar, it dawned on me the other day that the brand has really become a little bit naff (may be it always was). The advertising and marketing is always a bit cheesy - sort of reminds me of the Rover adverts from the 80s and 90s - clinging to its lame 'British' identity rather than just focussing on building a reputation for making beautiful, reliable, desirable cars.

Jaguar really has a major challenge if it's ever going to properly going to challenge the likes of BMW, Audi and Merc in the lower end of the luxury segment. Currently Jag is an absolute minnow in global terms. TATA have great ambitions for Jag but there is a long way to go. A very long way.

The marketing aspect is odd, as I think Range Rover's image and marketing are very good. Generally not flashy. The cars are beautifully shot and there's generally no fuss. The cars basically speak for themselves. Jag needs to follow that approach more IMO. Less of the Mark Strong, Ben Kingsley nonsense please.
