'Programme' is just what they call it at an admin/management level. When setting it up or making changes and the like. It's still the double oh 'section', as Mallory states to the SCO19 officer on the bridge later.

Well, I don't know how things are organised in the UK of course, but I've been working with civil servants most of my adult life, and a 'programme' is always a temporary set-up (allthough can last for tens of years) and has a certain goal. A section is just part of the standing operation.
I don't think they ever thought it through. They are very different beasts. In Fleming's world, the section was small, with a small bureaucratic set-up. In this film it's rather large, and even has camera's hanging in the area where they work? That's definately not up to NATO security standards.

Oh god, yes, now I remember. 'the double oh programme' instead of section. Bond beeing an arse to M, and that annoying 'c'. Bombastic bull about 'bringing intelligence into the light'.
Cringe. Civil servants don't talk like that.
The whole service knowing what bond did in Mexico. This script isn't good.

It's a terrible scene. Probably the worst M/Bond exchange in the series. Bond is such a knob in it and you're right - the script isn't good.

It's a bald man with a neck brace in a wheelchair. It's Bond in a helicopter.

Ok, the whole sequence makes no sense, the flying is excellent.

A fishing boat as cover for a spy ship is actually realistic. This still happens. I'm not sure they're so elaborate as this one is though.
And old ww2 sea mines are also still a threat in the med.

And the stuka dive-bomber sound for a floatplane. Wish they would stop using that every time. Still, good start to the film.

I actually completely missed the villains in Spain. The greek sounding music is rather misleading there.
An island full of ... Eh, villa full of women. Not bad Gonzales 😏

Even though the action is interesting, conti's music is rather jarring here. Bond and now Melina fleeing from the villa. I also find it amazing that whatsiname is letting Bond go, even though Gonzales has just identified him as mi6 on the basis of his gun. Which, I think, is a bit far fetched. Walther didn't only produce for mi6. But hey ..

The car chase is rather good, but again the music makes little sense.

What a view. Cortina, when bond and Ferrara meet.

Didn't see the smug half smile on kristatos' face before, after misleading Bond and Luigi. Cool.

Now bibi and Bond are skiing, and kriegler and locque are going after Bond. But why? Kristatos just put Bond on the trail of colombo. I know it's a good chase scene, but why? It makes more sense to let him go to Greece and chase colombo a bit, no?

So, locque is wearing a 'dove' badge ( were at the jump right now). Still makes no sense, as they are trying to kill Bond.
Music is terrible here. Going from plunging random chords to electronic upbeat pop, whilst Bond is running (skiing) for his life. It really takes away any tension.

Bond finds Luigi dead in his car, after visiting Bibi for information and getting rid of the ice hockey players. But why was he with Bond anyway?
There are more plot holes here than I remember.
Bond and Melina buying food on the market is cute though. Love Bonds outfit as well.

Love this scene, where the light is exchanged and colombo listens to the tape. Straight out of the novel.

You left this with Ferrara I believe...

This whole sequence was absolutely fantastic (and straight out of the novel).
now the prep for later, leaving a full oxygen tank at the sea floor.
At least the music is nice here

I'm at the underwater robot-duel now. it is not bad, but again I find the music jarring.

But why did Kristatos send the sub down if he had taken over the boat anyway?

going across the coral, you wouldn't be able to film that these days. Again a very good sequence, and again from Ian Fleming.

That's detante comrade, you don't have it, I don't have it. And that's the end of it. Well, except for something that isn't for our eyes.

It's actually a very good film. Pity about some plotholes that didn't need to be there, and an awful score. I really don't think Conti fits Bond (or any other film I like at that).

    Good comments @CommanderRoss
I always have time for FYEO, it has some realky excellent scenes and set pieces! I dont mind Contis score, and I do love his instrumental of the main theme! ( a theme song I really enjoy too, I read an article recently about Sheena Easton, she apparently is an avid gamer now!!)
