Italian media are reporting that cinema icon Claudia Cardinale has passed away, aged 87.

Some of her famous roles include Rocco e i suoi fratelli (aka Rocco and His Brothers), 8 ½, Il gattopardo (aka The Leopard) , The Pink Panther and C'era una volta il west (aka Once Upon a Time in the West).

She worked with some of the best directors in cinema history such as Luchino Visconti, Federico Fellini and Sergio Leone.

Here's to a very special lady and one of the best actresses to ever grace our screens. Riposa in pace, Claudia :(

Claudia was amazing in The Pink Panther and Once Upon A time In The West two of my favorite films, watched both hundreds of times. Claudia was an incredibly beautiful woman, sad loss. Of course Claudia appeared in Escape to Athena with Sir Roger.

It hasn't made German media yet, but if it is so, it is tragic. It may not be PC anymore to say so, but apart from being a great actress, she was probably one of the most beautiful women on screen. She brought joy to millions of people, and may she rest in peace.

I just watched Claudia Cardinale last night as Turner Classic Movies broadcast THE PINK PANTHER as part of their Peter Sellers celebration. I'll echo @j_w_pepper, Ms. Cardinale was really talented (in addition to being very beautiful).

Claudia Cardinale should have appeared in a Bond film, I am not sure if Claudia was ever considered.

One of my favourite films of her is Les Pétroleuses, with Brigitte Bardot. Let's just say that the confrontation was explosive :

One of the greatest comedy characters, a true nightmare, played to perfection. There's no better example of a social climber.

I was sad to hear of the death of Dame Patricia Routledge. She was a great comic actress and Keeping Up Appearances is a classic sitcom that will stand the test of time. I also enjoyed her role in an episode of Tales of the Unexpected called "The Verger" which actually had a nice happy ending for once.

R.I.P. Patrick Murray Only fools and Horse's had arguably the best ensemble cast in comedy.

Looking at IMDb Patrick Murray had some good credits in classics like The Bill and Lovejoy, I forgot he appeared in the controversial cult film Scum along side Ray Winston, I had Scum on DVD many years ago.

Birmingham-born John Lodge, singer and bassist of The Moody Blues since their most successful era (starting with Days Of Future Passed, 1967 - including Nights In White Satin), died "suddenly and unexpected" at the age of 82. RIP.

Really sad news about Diane Keaton. Loved her in the Woody Allen movies, The Godfather and others. In these days, 79 doesn't really seem the appropriate age to die.

Oh no, not her! Diane Keaton was legendary. I honestly cannot think of a singles role when she was anything else than great.
