    I remember Denis Irwin getting sent of at Anfield for a similar stupid rule and decision by ref.

    Bookings for booting the ball and dissent are completely fair play in my book. How can the ref have any authority if the players can act like children and get away with it.

    A yellow for taking shirts off is a bit sillier, but the principle is that putting the shirt back on delays the game unnecessarily. Instituted after Forlan still had his shirt off after kick-off. Anyway, it's been a rule for ages and Ekitike should know better than to take off his shirt on a yellow card. It's his own fault that he's been sent off and the referee should bear no blame for the decision
