The great Robert Redford passed away at the age of 89 in his Utah home. R.I.P., Sundance Kid.

Oh no. That's really sad, even though he wasn't young.

For me it’s THE STING and THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR.

Didn’t care for BUTCH AND SUNDANCE or JEREMIAH JOHNSON or PRESIDENT’S MEN.

Oh dear big fan of Robert Redford he has done a lot for cinema, The Sting, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are classics. When I was young The Natural was one of the first Redford films I watched it always stuck with me that movie.

The Final Homerun - The Natural (1984) HD

Sad news today. RIP Robert Redford.
  • RIP Mr. Redford. It’s time to give “The Sting” another viewing.

I pretty much love all his performances. Even in sub-par movies. That spy thriller with Brad Pitt, Spy Games I think was the name. Really mediocre at best. But Redford was amazing in it.

I always thought Redfords character in 'Spy Games' was an older version of the one he played in 'Three Days of the Condor' !
Have to say at one time 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ' was my all time favourite movie. Watched it recently and it's still wonderfully entertaining!

There is very little I can add to our remembrances of Robert Redford. In addition to be a great actor, he put his money and efforts into environmental and political causes that he believed in (and that I too think are important). He also was a champion of independent cinema, and his SUNDANCE festivals were an important gathering point for many up-and-coming filmmakers.

Mr. Redford also had iconic style: ^:)^

In his honor, I'm up for another watch of BUTCH CASSIDY and the SUNDANCE KID tonight - a movie that I always enjoy. And somewhere, someone must be streaming 1986's LEGAL EAGLES (w/Debra Winger :x ).

RIP Robert Redford (someone that exemplified talent and decency).

PS: I'm surprised no one has mentioned that his role in JEREMIAH JOHNSON gifted modern social media with one of its' most endearing gifs.

True, but I was just going by how the character was able to think on his feet, and outwit his opponents!

Emmy awards In Memoriam segment :

Some I didn't even know had passed away, like Alan Rachins, for example. Loved him in LA Law, all those years ago.

There were several omissions from that Emmy Memoriam list. No Gene Hackman, no Val Kilmer who both appeared in TV to name a few. Tony Todd and Hulk Hogan not mentioned either.

And I haven't seen Lalo Schifrin either, or maybe I missed him.

For Mission Impossible alone he should have been mentioned.
  • Alan Rachins also did the voice of The Clock King on Batman: The Animated Series.

  • Bit ironic that Trump has been paying respects to Robert Redford considering he played one of the journalists who helped bring down a corrupt president!
