Would you rather "Surrender" OR "Nothing Good about Goodbye" be the theme song?

I'd get impatient with Valentin's limp, so I'll do the tour with Kerim Bey and maybe drop in on the Russian later for a drink and a chat.

Good stuff I am pleased to see there was love for Kerim Bey. He is one of the stand outs in the series.

Okay Bond has ridden the rails with some lovely ladies. Lets focus on a couple that might get overlooked when it comes to train rides.

Would you rather ride the rails with Solitaire OR Madeleine Swann?

On one hand the gin rummy playing Solitaire. Can play a mean cards and feels like a woman for the first time while riding the rails. She is a good sport about being stuffed into a berth and seems to enjoy train travel.

    OR

Madeleine who helps as much as she can with brutes on the train. She has a sliver dress that plays well in the dining car. Madeleine is comfortable on the train and fits right in with the elegance of the travel.

    So whose your travel companion?

This is tough! I really, REALLY fancy both ladies. I guess I'll always choose Solitaire in the end.

I'll have to go for Madeleine, although it might feel weird dating someone sharing the name of my grandmother. But yeah, since Madeleine Swann has the face and body of Lea Seydoux... I mean, Jane Seymour is gorgeous too, but, well, the face and body of Lea Seydoux.

I find this an impossible answer to give. I'll take two trips, if you don't mind.

Oh I find Madeleine way more alluring!
Solitaire was always a bit of a drip for me!

For the record, yes I did watch Blue is the Warmest Colour, but no, it has nothing to do with it.

    A drip? How's that possible? She's a virgin!

As beautiful as she is, there's a Lolita vibe that I've never been too keen on.

I find Madeleine quite cold really, not someone whom I would liked to hang out with, she's a bit boring if I would be with her in a train, other than dinners and telling her tragic story which wouldn't be a good set up for a mood.

I'd rather have Solitaire, I could play with her on cards and beat me to it, just fine, and I think she would be a lot more fun to hang out with, we would have such a good time together.

Believe I would find Dr. Swann's psychiatric analysis valuable.

Who would've thought Lea Seydoux could've played Taylor Swift in a Biopic? 😅

Gladly join either of them, for obvious reasons :p, but Madeleine seems to be more my type, so I'll vote for her :)

Beautiful answers and nice to see both ladies are getting some love.

Since it's that time of the year of weddings, why not do this would you rather. This one was submitted by @SIS_HQ

Would you rather attend Bond's wedding in Portugal OR Felix's wedding in the Florida Keys?

Bond's wedding has you hobnobbing with M, Q, and Moneypenny. You'd also get to brush shoulders with members of the Union Corse and of course Marc-Ange Draco. You would wish best wishes to Bond and Tracy. Add in the outdoor feel and celebration in Portugal and this wedding has a lot to offer.

    OR

Felix's wedding which has a tropical vibe with a hot tub and lots of revelers on the dance floor. You get to hobnob with Sharkey and members of the DEA. You would pay your respects to Felix and Della. A nice outdoor vibe to this wedding as you party under the Florida sun.

Which wedding would you rather attend?

Can I attend with Miss Swift?

Been to both locales, I'd go with Lisbon for more of the beautiful city and its food. Think I'd get on fine with Olympe.

The question for me would be whether I'd try to change either of the timestreams.

Nice to see each nuptial got some votes. Wonderful question. Since both are outside it comes down to location, and maybe feel of the event. As I do not fancy wearing a grey tuxedo again I will choose Bond's wedding.

Would you rather Surrender be the theme song for TND OR "No Good about Goodbye be the theme for QOS?

Both cases the songs were the brain child of David Arnold. Both have a hook and a Bondian feel to them.

Surrender was used as an instrumental theme through out the movie. Apparently it was felt that kd Lang as a singer wasn't as marketable as Sheryl Crow. Surrender is big and bombastic and certainly sounds like a Bond theme song. A head scratcher as to why it wasn't chosen, unless it really did come down to the singer. Crow was right in her zenith as a recording artist and quite a "get" as the theme singer.

    OR

"No Good About Goodbye" which has been rumored but I don't think ever confirmed as a candidate for the theme song of QOS. Instead we got the series first duet with mixed results. Would this jazzy number been a better fit than what we got? It would have been nice to have the velvet voice of Dame Shirley over the credits of a Bond film.

Which one would you rather be the theme song of their respective film?

I absolutely love Surrender. I'm a fan of "No Good About Goodbye" but if "Surrender" had ended up being the main theme, it would've been in the upper echelon of Bond title songs.

"Surrender" sticks in my mind more than "No Good About Goodbye"

But both are superior to the songs that were chosen ahead of them to be the actual main theme

I'd rather have Surrender be the theme song of Tomorrow Never Lies, the title that should have had the second Brosnan Bond movie.

Okay, okay, off topic, but still...

Maybe this is a controversial opinion on my part - I think both are, in my honest opinion, forgettable and generically 'Bondian' sounding songs that don't do it for me. They could play over a Bond parody or knock off and I'd believe they were made for that purpose. I genuinely think it's for the best neither of those songs were the main title tracks. I rate both TND and AWTD above either of those songs. Honestly, I can't for the life of me see (or rather hear) how they're an improvement.

I guess if I had to pick, Surrender is more fitting of TND, but it's not an improvement over Crow's song.

No good about goodbye. I find surrender the superior song, but crow's song isn't bad at all, whilst awtd is horrific. So the improvement definitely is there to be made.
