There's something about Sanchez, the de jure ruler of his own personal kingdom, wearing a pink shirt.

    Very clever, indeed.

Best dressed, though? I think not.

In a classic "the actors in the Academy vote for the film with the best acting"-move, as a massive Skyfall fan, I have to vote for Silva, although I have a different outfit in mind than the one mentioned in the nomination.
Since he only has four I can remember and two of those are funtional (prisoner jumpsuit and police uniform), the outfit of choice is his island outfit. Olive trousers and waistcoat, insane patterned Prada shirt (mostly covered by the waistcoat) and a perfectly tailored cream jacket. It all fits and it fits together for a look that both works for the location as well as the character. He looks beautiful, but crazy.

I once dressed as Scaramanga, well, sort of. White linen suit with a black tie. Made me feel as villainous as ever. Better than an all dark tuxedo, Le Chiffre style.

    Silva certainly dresses the part.

A bit like Charles Gray's Blofeld.

Time to revive this old thread and have some renewed awards along with some new ones. Hard to believe we have been quiet here for a year.

First bit of business to those who are new here, we will have a category and the academy will get five nominees. You will then select who deserves the Bondy (good trophy) or a Klebbie (bad trophy). You can take it seriously write in detail why you chose your vote or merely state your selection. After a bit of time I will tally up our results and voila an award to be handed out.

Now to finish off our year of voting! LOL!

The Klebbie for "good idea, bad execution" the award goes to....turning Japanese from YOLT this nomination received 8 votes from the academy.

Other nominees included 4 votes for killing off Bond in NTTD, female antagonist received 1 vote and a couple of write in votes for the character of Sacramanga from TMWTGG.

On to our next award and for this one we are turning to a Bondy! As Bond is known as a fashion plate, so too have the evil villains looking to end him. So lets celebrate the best dressed Bond villain.

    The nominees are:
    • Francisco Scaramanga (The Man with the Golden Gun, 1974)
Signature Look: Pristine, ivory‑white dinner jacket with black bow tie.
Style Notes: Every element is razor‑sharp—just like his marksmanship. The white suit sets him apart as a meticulous professional who moves in the world like a ghost, while the gold accents (cufflinks, pistol grip, even his tie pin) signal both his lethal precision and obsession with luxury.
    • Le Chiffre (Casino Royale, 2006)
Signature Look: Dark three‑piece suits with subtle pinstripes or micro‑checks, perfectly pressed shirts, and slim ties.
Style Notes: A high‑stakes gambler needs clothing that conveys quiet power and control. His muted palettes speak to a man who hides pain behind a mask of elegance, while impeccably tailored shoulders and narrow lapels echo his poker‑faced precision at the table.
    • Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger, 1964)
Signature Look: Sharp, timeless cuts echo his obsession with gold and perfection, while golf attire ties directly to his most iconic scenes.
Style Notes: Tailored brown flannel suits, crisp white shirts, and slender black ties—plus his trademark golf ensembles: argyle sweaters over slacks and flat caps. Classic 1960s “corporate tycoon” style conveys both wealth and authority.
    • Raoul Silva (Skyfall, 2012)
Signature Look: Sleek, charcoal wool overcoat worn over black tactical knitwear. gloves.
Style Notes: Silva’s wardrobe fuses high‑fashion minimalism with avant‑garde edge. The overcoat’s clean lines and dark shades underscore his controlled menace, a perfect mirror of his tech‑terrorist persona.
    • Ernst Stavro Blofeld (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, 1969 & various incarnations)
Signature Look: Simple, tailored turtleneck or Nehru‑collar jacket—often in muted tones like charcoal or slate.
Style Notes: Understated but unmistakable, Blofeld’s minimalist silhouettes convey supreme authority and unflappable composure. The high collars cocoon his character in secrecy, while the monochrome palette echoes his monolithic, single‑minded pursuit of power.

Who are you awarding best dressed to, feel free to write in votes for your favourite if they aren't here with the top five.

Now there's a difficult choice to make. But I think I'll go for Ernst Stavro Blofeld, in OHMSS. Not only have I come to appreciate the turtleneck a lot more the last few years, but the Nehru suit, next to definately making him look calm and powerful, is a nice contrast in the Swiss mountains, to the warm tropics it is most affilliated with.

I'll write in Kamal Khan. He looks immaculate in every scene. During the dinner sequence he looks like he could even be Bond.

I absolutely love Louis Jordan in Octopussy! The sound of his voice is as seductive as Connery's and that is saying something! The way he says Octopussy also puts a wry smile on my face as well as a giggle! ;))

Wonderful stylish thoughts by the academy. I shall flutter to the stage to present the Bondie for our Best Dressed Villain...

Francisco Scaramanga for white suit and black tie!

The academy votes tally as such:
    • Blofeld received one vote
    • Scaramanga received 5 votes
    • Silva received 2 votes
    • Le Chiffre received 2 votes
    • Write in vote for Kamal
    • Zero votes for Goldfinger

Time for another award and lets see if we can give some love with another Bondie. There are folks that play small parts in Bond films. They might be a technician, or maybe a Captain of a sub, they may be a small part that helps our hinders our hero on his mission.

Back when Cubby and Harry were the producers they might bring an actor back to do another small role. In today's cinema these types of castings are a thing of the past as audiences now expect continuity. A shame really as this is a great way for a small part to be cast and for an actor to make a small mark on the film.

I think it is time for us to recognize these folks with a Bondie. Here are the nominees for best returning actor in different roles.
    • Shane Rimmer (YOLT, DAF, TSWLM) he played a satellite tech tracking the rocket back to earth, the hapless employee who recognized Willard Whyte's voice, and his meatiest role the Captain of the US submarine in Spy.
    • George Baker (OHMSS, TSWLM) from Sir Hilary Bray to Captain Benson George made the most of his screen time.
    • Victor Tourjanksy (TSWLM, MR, FYEO) he could do a double take with the best of them. Showing up in the films as the wine loving tourist he stood out in good ways.
    • Martine Beswick (FRWL, TB) she was able to handle fight scenes with some aplomb. First appearing as a gypsy fighting for the affections of the son and then as Paula who meets a tragic end in TB.
    • Walter Gotell (FRWL, TSWLM, MR, FYEO, OP, AVTAK, TLD) He was on the side of evil and then re-appeared as a moderate enemy. Walter was able to deliver with both characters.

So who is getting the Bondie? The best minor actor in the series. There are many more examples that I could have used. I refrained from Charles Gray, Maud Adams as they went from minor roles to lead roles. I am looking for actors that always stayed in the minor roles.

I’d have to say Walter Gotell - but damn it should be Victor Tourjanksy!

George Baker. Not because he played Tiberius in I, Claudius. But I might be biased.

My vote goes to Martine. She's an amazing actress, and even though she plaed two minor roles, she managed to leave a lasting impression.

    Gotta go with Gotell.

But of the true bit players, Rimmer.

Gotell seems to be obvious choice, such a great character...but I'm going to go with Shane Rimmer! Love that guy!

Shane Rimmer. He also voiced agent Hamilton in the LALD pre-titles.

I do like it when Shane Rimmer pops up - always a great actor to see. Especially his voice performance in Thunderbirds - instantly recongisable. I also noticed him when he popped up in Batman Begins. It's a shame he didnt have a little cameo in Skyfall given it was the 50th anniversary film... maybe as the shocked underground tube driver ;D

    Oh man, great category.
Is Gotell really a minor actor in small roles though? Definitely need some thinkpieces about category fraud before the awards ceremony!
Due to the aforementioned concerns, Tourjansky gets my vote.

Five films or more for Lenny Rabin. Different character in each.

Some excellent actors in there but I'm going Shane Rimmer too: he's just so likeable onscreen for some reason.
