Bond rushes after goldie with Dr Jones in tow

Is she needed for the end sequence, or something?

Elektra pops into M's cell to say good morning, then decides to leave. M stops her, asks her what time it is for no valid reason and is handed the crucial alarm clock.

Had Elektra gone about her day, her diabolical plan would have succeeded.

Yeah, but why would she think anything about putting the alarm clock there? Are you saying that should ring an alarm bell for Elektra? Think of it from her perspective, that's quite abstract thinking.

    The torture sequence.

    'It's my oil! Mine!'

    Torture enough.

It's rather just entering the room at all.

Elektra completely loses character during the torture sequence and behaves like a stroppy, spoiled teenage monstrosity more than a conniving, cunning killer.

Bond shooting her is a relief.

Valentin, in retrospect, added next to nothing of value in this film. He became a buffoon.

    'I never miss'

Excellent line and delivered with aplomb.

Had the goon closed the sub hatch a second sooner...

The goon who gets faceplanted by Pierce is the same as the 'piss off' goon from Quantum of Solace.

    Renard shoots his own man.

    Evil.

Are Renard's crew all dead on with the suicide mission?

The sub sequence is much, much better than I remembered it.

Special mention goes to the 'she's waiting for you' mutual acknowledgment: Bond putting Renard out of his misery, Renard accepting Bond's offer of eternal love.

    The End

Better than I remember, but still not by any means a better film.

An ultimately frustrating experience but a noble effort. I'll no longer place it in the 'avoid' category during watch-backs.

Also, can I just say, Denise Richards is nowhere near as bad as she was rated. Not even close to 'raspberry award' territory. Not brilliant by any means, but let down as everyone else from poor plotting and poorer characterisation. Film was more interested in bizarre chases and illusory humour.

Valentin should not have returned, either.

Furthermore, the amount on SF taken from TWINe is as aforementioned: stark.

    It's practically a remake.

I'm watching the Bond adventure I believe future Amazon Bond films will be closest to in style and Bondian authenticity..........NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN.

Largo greets his employees with proper morning cheer.
I appreciate Edward Fox's version of M. Perfectly believable as a new superior who tends to be a little unlikable.

Algernon is another character here I love.

The Blu-ray is quite impressive. Good colors throughout.

The shark sequence is pretty intense. Today the sharks would be CGI.
Fatima is partying hard with the band....and changes outfits specially to plant a bomb in Bond's suite.

NSNA always reminds me of my late mother as she was beyond thrilled to see Connery back as Bond. So, any time the topic of this film comes up - despite it not being among my own favorites - I have warm memories of it.

Enjoy the rest of your NSNA watch @ToTheRight.

It's gonna be your ass, James!
    Thank you.

"Chanson d'amour"......my favorite Bond tune of all time.

Thanks, @Dwayne. My mom preferred Connery as well. She also likes Dalton, but never bothered with the Craig films. My folks took me to a matinee of NSNA opening weekend and I loved it. I was just getting into Bond at the time, and catching the ABC Sunday Night Movie Airings off the earlier films.

The Domination game sequence. Largo's fave charity being orphan children. The Craig era would probably have used this moment to bring up Bond's childhood.
Fitting I'm watching this today as it is indeed Klaus Maria Brandauer's birthday.

Had to pause the film momentarily and run a few errands. Now I'm at the Palmyra sequence. Largo and Domino's confrontation scene.

    "Ya, maybe .....I'm crazy" .

My response when Bond fans discover how much I love NSNA

To this day I still want to know what watch brand Connery is wearing in NSNA.
I've always liked the look of this laser watch. It is kind of weird that the laser in in the clasp, though.

Is that Vic Armstrong himself crashing in the water with Domino and that poor horse?
