Bond doesn't detect the numerous times Elektra corrects or disparages any mention of her dad.

    Why send the parahawks, anyway?

They're expensive and seem to want to kill Bond and Elektra, which would sully their master's
    plan.

Surely a staged assassination at the campsite would suffice?

The casino scene has some puerile humour but Pierce handles it deftly.

The casino scene could do with more Valentin and backstory for Renard. He's supposed to be haunted the film, directing everyone from outside but it's forgotten him outright.

The 'payoff' scene is poorly executed, a bit like the movie at large.

Renard deserved a much better introduction.

Bond falling for Elektra is one scene and craved a greater descent.

I do like the sequence leading into the test site. Davidoff's downfall, assumed identity, office skulk and Blofeld Airlines.

    No. Never.
Think M should have been sacked sooner.

I trust 007 implicitly but dismiss his advice. Then I leave myself unprotected around you, Elektra....

The tet a tet between Renard and M is quite good, with neither actor chewing any scenery.

The buzzsaw chase is godawful, with Bond again incapable of spotting an obvious clue, this time with Goldie.

At least it is played for laughs, so we cannot really quibble. It's just another setpiece which does nothing to advance the plot.

Elektra pops into M's cell to say good morning, then decides to leave. M stops her, asks her what time it is for no valid reason and is handed the crucial alarm clock.

Had Elektra gone about her day, her diabolical plan would have succeeded.
