That she may pop up here and there, ok, but it would help if the google - and other search engines' alghritms, would allow for a bit more diversification.
I hate summer too. The heat is the worst.
I'm with you, mate. Summer is my least favourite season. Not just the hay fever, which I'm fortunately spared of (unlike my wife), but also the intense heat, the bugs, and people acting all kinds of crazy, more than usual. Everything's sticky, food spoils fast, I can't move an inch without dripping sweat everywhere, and my nice students suffer from volcanic eruptions of hormones. Can't wait for the Fall to be upon us again. Cool breezes, multicoloured leafs in the forest, and students frozen in a docile state of good behaviour. ;-)
It's variable here. Today it's sunny and humid. You never know what you're going to get. A temperate climate I believe they call it. ;)
My ancestors were Ulster Scots so maybe I'd feel a natural inclination to it. That said sunny and humid sounds awful. I can't stand the heat, wherever I am. Last time I genuinely enjoyed summer was during the holidays of my 20s, when I spent it at my parents' place. They have a swimming pool.
That's interesting. I am Ulster Scots too. It was very clammy yesterday. I see they said yesterday was the hottest day of the year in Britain so far and the heatwave is to continue. I had forgotten how oppressive the heat can be, especially with high humidity. It is very tiring.
It's on my mother's side and it dates back to the 19th century. Might be presumptuous for me to label myself of Ulster Scots origins, but my mum has a Scottish family name to prove it.
But yeah, summer sucks. Especially with this heatwave.
No, I think it's fine to label it that as it's part of your makeup. I think you are of French Canadian heritage as well if I remember correctly?
It's sunny and muggy here again today. It's one of the times where you appreciate air conditioning in shops etc. as the contrast is stark between inside and outside!
I hate close weather, the worst!
Yes, close is another term for it. It's not very pleasant!
Yes, pretty much. I'm Quebecois. So French on my father's side (Normand or Auvergnat for the family name), Ulster Scott on my mother's side.
Ah, I see. That's a nice mixed lineage then. I think most of us are made up of different bits of nationalities.
Yes, and it gets more mixed for my son, as my wife is English, but her father is a South African Jew.
That's great. He's got the best all nations have to offer then! :)
