@SIS_HQ I believe I had seen a set picture or BTS-reel of that scene. To me it does not look like green screen, it's probably only because in that FB clip the scene is starkly zoomed in.

Back on the stolen hard drive project build from Skyfall and (noticed last time around but forgot to mention) when Bond is trying to remove the lanyard from Patrice's neck while on the train, we can see that the 15-pin terminal connector plate has become detached from the circuit board and slides around in the bottom end of the casing. This is reflected in the auctioned prop which has the same panel removed. Cue jokes about slashed budgets and inability to afford quality soldering equipment.

Good point! Next time I need to put out an order, I'll put there as precondition the drive should be able to withstand beeping a necklace whilst being fought over on top a train. See if it triggers a reaction 😁 but usually we work with portable SSD drives.

    At 1:35.

During the backgammon scene with Bond and Kamal Khan, Magda tips off Bond that the dice are dodgy. Its quite blink and you’ll miss it, but it confirms Bond suspicion the dice are loaded.

Very nice. Makes me like her even more.

Great spot, @Mallory. Never noticed that double look before. How do we miss such things?

I think part of what helps hide it is that when we cut back to Bond, he's not looking at her anymore. Almost looks like he missed the clue as well.

I always took it that Bond knew the dice were loaded when we see Kamal palm him dice and bring them under the table. This is a nice find that it might help Bond confirm the cheating.

Well spotted indeed! I must say I'd never spotted that that's what Magda was doing in that scene. Bond must've charmed her right from the start then!

Yet later she helps Kamal Khan get the egg back. I am not sure this was knowingly helping, might be more a case of a sub-conscious tell.

Yeah to be honest I'm not 100% convinced that anything is implied there, I think she's just acting a bit nervous and is perhaps not the greatest actor to grace the screen.

Wayborn is frankly godawful. She keeps 'checking' herself in the dinner scene, tilting her head back before speaking.

Her dialogue is frequently dubbed, too.

"Godawful" is a bit severe I think. Sure, she's not Katharine Hepburn or Monica Vitti but she isn't the worst actress either. She was a good fit for what the role required :)

She's terrible, man, but I'd let her off just for her smile. Helps to intrigue her.

YOU think she's terrible, fair enough. That's how you see it. I respect that, but that doesn't mean it's a fact though.

I learned from one of Calvin's recent videos that Dench's M in the Brosnan films had a different name (Barbara something) vs. Olivia Mansfield in the Craig films. I had absolutely no idea beforehand that she had been named at all back then.

@AnotherZorinStooge Could you please stop questioning other people's intelligence when they happen to have a different opinion. It's just poor form. Thank you.

Now, it seems this thread has been derailed for quite some time, so let me attempt to get it back on topic. Here's something I never noticed before: in FYEO's 2CV chase we're supposed to be in Spain, yet the locals right after the chase, in the olive grove, speak Italian.

Interesting, I didn’t know that either. I wonder if the last name also started with an M since we have Mansfield and (Miles) Messervy.

I think it did. I just can't remember what he said the name was. It's one of his last couple videos though. All about the casting of M

Yup. And the whole thing was filmed in Greece, on the island of Corfu, to be exact. Although I think that at least the bus that was stuck in the village had "Spanish" licence plates.

I seem to remember the name was Barbara Mawdsley. Though I never worried about that at the time. But it was (with all respect to Judi Dench) a stupid idea to revive her as a different M for the Craig films.

M was never officially given a name in the Brosnan films. Barbara Mawdsley was the name given to the new M in Raymond Benson's novels. The name has never been seen on any official Brosnan film prop documentation.

Really? I thought the chase was filmed in Italy, given the locals speak Italian. Maybe they took some Italian extras from Cortina to Corfu ;)

You're quite right about the licence plates, the baddie Peugeots also have Spanish ones, so they got that right. And the bus seems to go to Madrid too, which is a bit funny because for such a major city buses would probably indicate where exactly in Madrid they would take you :p

I didn't actually question another's intelligence, just their agenda. If that is the former for you, that's not an unfair assessment and I apologise.

The 'peter' character just didn't like being called out on their own process, and retorted with a variety of insults. That's poor form.

I did my best to abjure their polemics and get the conversation juiced again.

    Here we are.

King says her name in TWINE, doesn't he?

Dench's M in TND is her best work - razor sharp wit.

Though it's the same actor (with good reason), I've always seen her Brosnan and Craig era M's as two separate people.

Like the rest of the crew, she's overused, but that doesn't detract from her performance. She, Craig and Bardem are excellent in SF, working so well with so much so so.
