Totally random thought: apparently Florence Pugh opens the Thunderbolts movie by jumping off a skyscraper, and does it for real. She's also getting raves for that movie saying she's the best thing about it. So if Tom does decide he's done with MI (and I must admit I hope he's not), how about Pugh as the new IMF team leader?

It's not a bad idea but I don't know if Pugh is famous enough.

No one is. Tom Cruise is the last living movie star.

I know. I mean, as famous as Scarlett Johansson or someone like her.

I think she'll be A-list pretty soon. She's very good.

Cruise's replacement has already been cast.

Pretty old idea, this ad is from 1989 and remembered as a bit of a classic:

Kind of interesting in a way that the M:I theme was associated with physical feats like that, because I wouldn't say the TV show was about that sort of thing much, and yet the film series has arguably been modelled on that squirrel quite a bit! :D
Maybe it's just the phrase 'Mission Impossible' evokes that impression, and the music does too.

Scarlett Johansson is boring. And MAJORITY overexposed. She doesn’t have many facial expressions. Plus, she’s said and done A LOT of things that should have gotten herself canceled. Someone fresh, please.

A Man like Brandon Sklenar would be good to take the mantle. Florence Pugh could make an interesting villain however.

Never heard of him. Nah, Pugh’s a more interesting lead.

Yeah. Pugh is a very good actress. Apart from her recent roles, I would never forget her performance in Lady Macbeth. Such a nuance and mature performance for her young age. Really good performance.
