It’s often for some of us to have disagreements. We’re all different, but at the end of the day, we’re also all Bond fans. At the same time, I have found the most beautiful compassion and help from people I have never met, our only thing in common, a love and respect for a fictional character called James Bond.
The internet can be a lifeless, soulless place with little forgiveness. But it can also give you hope. Give you comfort and love. It’s a fine line sometimes. I’m thankful for what this forum has given me, and everything it continues to give me.

Very well said. Some of the only close and deep friendships I have these days actually come from folks on this forum, from people I've never met in person in my life, yet it's delightful to find, even better to retain, and I've enjoyed getting to know you all more and more over the last decade-plus. This is a great place in that respect.

This forum and it's previous incarnation KTBEU has helped me through a most difficult time in my life.
It's not always easy to put into words, but the support and love is something I could never repay.

I feel the same, @Benny. This forum and it's members have helped me through extraodinary difficult times during the past few years. It's a wonderful community.
My thoughts are with you today.

I'm relieved that this community has been able to get you through that @Benny as the online world can often be a place that only adds to our anger and sorry. As others have shared, you are in my thoughts.

Thank you all for your messages. I don't usually share the story of my twins, but I felt the need to share yesterday. To remember them, but to also share the good that comes from such an experience.
This forum and KTBEU are truly a reason, how I got through the emotion, and heartache. The friends and to be honest, people I have never met in person (well I have met a few now), sharing their love and support. It's a beautiful thing, and one that deeply moves me. That there is good in people, and I thank you for that.

R.I.P. Seymour Stein, founder of Sire Records, who signed The Pretenders and Madonna, (in the realm of Bond-related soundtracks) and was hugely influential in the American late seventies and eighties musical scene. He also signed both the Ramones and Talking Heads (he reportedly came up on his own with the "New Wave" tag, as he thought that "punk" was condescending), he played a big part in Lou Reed's comeback at the end of the eighties, got The Replacements, The Smiths, Depeche Mode or The Cure on his label in their heydays… and was instrumental into relaunching jazz singer Jimmy Scott's career after a twenty-year gap.

To be a little more precise, Steve was the co-creator of Hawk & Dove, along with artist Steve Ditko. I hadn't heard about Steve S's passing until just now... His tenure on Aquaman was quite memorable as well. Also worked on the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, something this community has probably overlooked but might find interesting. More mid-60s semi-super-spies. I'm telling you, if you weren't there you missed some remarkable moments in popular culture!

As someone that has had to care for a loved one while they suffered with Alzheimer’s disease, this update on the passing of Raquel Welch is all the more heart breaking. That such a strong, intelligent and vibrant woman could be afflicted with a disease that eventually robs one of those very qualities is hard to reconcile.

Yes, the extent to which Alzheimer's reduces someone is awful. My mother had it for the last four years of her life. She taught me to read before I started school, but thanks to the Alzheimer's she ended up not being able to even read words like 'cat.' It takes everything. It's a cruel, cruel disease.

It was announced this week that actress Sharon Acker has died (earlier on March 16th). A fixture on 1960s and 1970s US television (STAR TREK, GET SMART, THE WILD WILD WEST, etc..) she was also in one of my favorite neo-film noirs POINT BLANK (1967) along with Lee Marvin. She was 87 years old.

Just heard that writer Rachel Pollack (Doom Patrol) has passed away, aged 77.

I have, in my comic book collection, her run on Doom Patrol. She was a worthy successor to Grant Morrison.

Looks like Michael Lerner passed away at the age of 81. Good character actor! May he rest in peace.

National Lampoon's Class Reunion "Pipe the Payer"

I watched Class Reunion countless times in my youth crazy film, first thing I saw Michael Lerner in.

Fashion designer Mary Quant has died.

I think I can safely say that she was one of those individuals that made the 1960s, THE 1960s.

111-years ago today, 1,500 people perished in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, many of whom were poor migrants seeking better lives in the new world. May they all rest in peace.
