I just hope our reactions will be like these come the 30th :)

And I'm getting more and more confident that they will.

Long time lurker, first time poster because this is so damn exciting! If anyone is willing to share the link with a longtime Bond music fan, it would be much appreciated.
  • Thanks to the community for sharing this. Totally echo everyone else about the genius of how this pulls from past soundtracks. The explicit callbacks, shivers...

I'm somehow still holding out for hearing a nod to "Underneath the Mango Tree" when bond is chilling at his villa

Bond might pop on a record after doing some fishing. That would be great.
Alternatively they might put the remix of Madonna's 'die another day' on in the Jamaican nightclub 😉

Bond should start singing it 😂

Glad I wasn't the only one hearing a bit of Serra in there, with the deep choral sounds

Right! GE is one of my favorite soundtracks, and hearing that sound carried over from there to NTTD, although brief, was great.

The Norway Chase track also has elements of the goldeneye 64 game OST, what with the percussion and deep ominous cues tbh
  • The film will also have some local songs for the Jamaica club and Cuban SPECTRE party scenes. I hope Boom Shot Dis and Rastafari Way make it in!

It's time to come out of my long hiatus to give my two cents on the score. I liked it and that's surprising considering I'm not really a fan of the works of Hans Zimmer. The musical fanservice was great and there was plenty of Bond theme to make me happy after not being impressed by the last two scores in the canon. I'd say it's the best Bond score since CR.
  • I'd like it too if anyone could send it.

Hi all! Long-time lurker (back to the anticipation of QOS), first-time poster. I always catch up on my favorite topics before I pop my melatonin, hah.

Predictably, I would love it if someone could drop me the link as well. This is one of my most anticipated aspects of NTTD.

Just think of the good karma!
  • Echoing the many sentiments on this thread, I have to admit, after preordering this I'd be very grateful to hear the score early after the praise that it's garnered so far.

I was initially concerned that Hans Zimmer would offer up a bit of a generic score but it looks like I'm wrong. 🙂

Can anyone confirm if the WHATTITW cue in 2. Matera, is the same version as seen at the end of the Being James Bond documentary, or whether they used original Barry for that??
  • Please can someone PM me the link too. I'm dying to hear this

    .
  • With some late night soy work I’ve managed to sort 11 tracks into mp3. I shall work in the rest tonight. Not sure what I will do with them afterwards.

  • Just had a quick browse through each clip. Yes, I'm really liking what I have heard so far. Obviously loving the OHMSS references too. Nods to Barry throughout, but still sounds very Zimmer/Nolan.

If the film is as good as the soundtrack, we are in for a classic!

And one more thing - Poison Garden? Surely not Shatterhand's garden of death? :-O

I recall it being just Barry’s. If it sounded like Zimmer’s it would have caught my ear

In an interview, Barbara Broccoli said that fans of the novels will get a treat or two. I think that’s exactly what she was referring to. In fact, you can see it in the second trailer at a quick glance.
  • Having listened to the whole Score twice, I must say I am slightly confused by many of the comments here. Besides the obvious integration of the Barry tracks (which are both surprising and nicely done), I dont hear anything that reminds me of Barry style - neither much of Arnold style.
More than that I would say that the majority of the score is very much in line with the style that Newman has introduces in SF meaning that Zimmer and team rather go for a carpet of sound than a more melody-driven approach. In fact many elements in various tracks almost sound like they were taken from Newman (Macau casino arrival, Turkey tracks, Rom chase,...). As somehow who quite enjoyed Newman's work (on SF... not so much the copy-paste job he did for SP) I like that there is some kind of musical consistency now in those three Craig movies. All of which is not surprising as also Newman went for a "Zimmer'esque" approach.

Some of the tracks I particularly liked:
    - Cuba Chase: The team goes wild with this
    - Opening the Doors: I love the full Zimmer-way of the Bond Theme that can be heard in multiple tracks but is most vibrant in this one
    - Norway Chase: another strong, dynamic Zimmer track featuring chorus
    - Final Ascent: well...

I do agree… Barry and Arnold’s works are light touches there and there and this is great but yes the large part of the score is very Zimmer in a way he follows Newman but his score works better to me.
