It's safe to say I'm worried about Bond in 2020 and beyond.

I think you misunderstood. You were supposed to rank the eras, not just list them chronologically ;)

60s - 6 movies, 6 bonafide classics. Cannot be topped.
70s - uneven but still contains a couple of guilty pleasures.
80s - The saga's first proper rejuvenation with Dalton's two strong entries.

The rest is mostly trash or not Bond films AFAIC so i don't even bother ranking them.

    1. 1960s
'Nuff said. What was the key? Probably so much Fleming source material (I assume, not having read all the books); Connery; great casting (including many top-ranked Bond girls); many exotic locations.

    2. 1970s
Not a big fan of DAF or LALD, but I really enjoy the other Moore films and believe the Bond "machinery" was at its second-strongest in the 70s. I see TSWLM and MR as "big" Bond films, as in scale, one reason why they make an impression on me. I also see the villains in the films from TMWTGG through MR as consistently iconic, if perhaps a bit cartoonish, looking back, but who knows.

    3. 1980s
Has my sentimental fave FYEO; Moore's last really good one (in my opinion) OP; and TLD, which I see as the best Dalton film.

    4.2000s
Mostly on the strength of CR, which is considerable, but I enjoy QoS once in a while.

    5. 2010s
I see both films as very good (SF) and enjoyable/fun (SP), but not tops for me.

    6. 1990s
I like GE a lot, the other Brosnan films less so but good once in a while.
