How old are you? At what age did you first encounter Bond?

Just made this because I am curious as to what age variety we have on this forum. And just because...

I am currently 13, and I first saw Bond (Goldfinger) at the age of 7. :-B

    I am currently 16 and first encountered Bond while playing 007 Nightfire (the single greatest game of all time) with my cousin David around age 11 or so, maybe even 10. I did not become a full blown Bond fan until I starting renting the DVDs from Blockbuster during the summer between my 7th and 8th grade school years, when I was 13 years old. I believe my first Bond movie experience was with From Russia with Love if I recall correctly.

    I'm 19 in 2 days. The first movie I saw was Tomorrow Never Dies on VHS, just as it released, and I became hooked.

    As much as I give Brosnan a bad rap nowadays, he was a great Bond to introduce me to the franchise. At the time, I was a young boy looking for action, explosions, and machine guns. He delivered. I always thought a BMW 750i was a bit of a strange car (TWINE's Z8 was more fitting), but it performed well enough. TWINE kept me content too, although looking back on it now, I got bored and fast forwarded to the action scenes.

    Die Another Day was my very first DVD. I saw it in theatres too. I specifically remember being really surprised by the CGI bullet. And still to this day, I feel like Nightfire on PS2 had a better story. Pretty shallow.

    Because of DAD's emphasis on the impossible, I remember being really confused with Casino Royale. -- That's not to say I didn't like the movie, because it sat at the top as my favourite for a long time. And it's still #2 (to Majesty). -- When Le Chiffre was fiddling with the poker chips, I thought the sound he was making was some sort of X-ray vision that could see Bond's cards. I was young (probably 12) and foolish at the time, but I blame Tamahori.

    Quantum was fine, I guess.

    I didn't realize so many of you were younger than me. I thought I was one of the youngest, if not the youngest, frequent poster here.

    Im 23 years old. My first encounter with Bond was when I was 8 years old in 1997 and since TND was about to be released my friend's dad showed us a VHS copy of Moonraker. I was sold almost immediatly.

    I am 18. I guess I first encountered Bond in my early childhood years just seeing the Brosnan films in passing glance, but never actually understanding any of it at my age besides the shooting and explosions. In my early High School years I thought nothing of him, hearing about how Sean was the best, yada, yada. Then, upon a recommendation by a friend to watch them, I started to consider getting into the films. And soon after, as luck would have it, GF was on Turner Classic Movies late one night. I gave it a watch, and was hooked, the Sir Sean worshipper you see today before you. That same year there was a Bond marathon all summer on the USA channel, and I got engorged in all of it. I got every Connery on DVD, him being my eternal favorite, and watched CR countlessly on marathons and then on DVD once I attained it, cementing it as my favorite Bond film. I met Vesper, a woman I fell for like Bond, and mourned her when he mourned her. In just a short time in my life I turned from a young teen with no aspirations to watch a Bond film to a young adult who becomes alert at the very mention of his name or 00 number. Without Bond in my life I would be a lesser man, and I wouldn't be fortunate enough to call all of you here at MI6 great friends, joined not in blood, but in bond...for Bond. :)

    I'm 21, I was first introduced to 007 at age 5 or 6 when I first got GoldenEye 64 then saw the movie shortly after. ah I miss the 90's.

    Considering the world is melting down at the moment the nineties were a golden age I suppose.

    I didnt realise how very young some of the posters are. I suppose I should cut them some slack for that.

    This will make you feel very young.

    The summer of 1977. The world was in recession, the Queens silver jubilee was on and punk was blaring out of the radio (when it wasn't banned)

    I was taken to see Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger at the Southend Odeon and because I was a good boy (I wasn't always) they took me to see The Spy Who Loved Me for my 8th birthday. Seeing the ski jump and tanker battle on the big screen blew me away.

    I started reading the books and seeing them on double bill soon after.

    I remember being looking forward to Pierce's films when they came out in the cinema and going to see them with my dad.

    Probably my fondest memory was in TWINE when Bond's boat drenches the clampers. The cheer/applause from the audience was great.

    It's a shame most of Brozza's films aren't as impressive as an adult :(

    40 years old, I was 5 years old and it was SWLM on the big screen, 35 years a Bond fan.

    I'm 29. First encountered Bond when I was 5, saw TLD at the cinema. I didn't understand the story but the action and the stunts got me hooked.

    35 years, Thunderball and OHMSS were the first Bond movies i watch back then in 1991 on local tv. Since then i rent the videos to see the other movies in the franchise. The first cinematic experience seeing Bond in theater for me was Goldeneye,

    I'm 27 and I was first introduced to Bond in 1990 and the film was LALD on VHS. I just remember how creepy the film was with a blown up Mr Big and all that scary voodoo stuff and that haunting laughter at the end from Baron Samedi. I promptly remember watching Jayce and the wheeled warriors to make myself feel better after watching that James Bond horror movie.

    I'm 16 and first encountered Bond when I was 9 years old back in 2005. That was when I watched TND, after that i was hooked! TND is still one of my favorites.

    But I guess I watched some part of FRWL when I was a little kid. But I can't barely remember that.

    I am 28 years old, first Bond film was LALD on one of those ITV Bondathons, around 1990/1991.

    50 (Bond's Cinema age!). My first encounter was at our local town hall which for six weeks of the summer holidays was converted two nights a week into a cinema. I must have been about 10/11 when I was finally allowed to go. A friend convinced me to go as he had seen the film before and there was a naked girl painted gold in it! Sure this would have been about 1971. We went every year up until TMWTGG, after that the cinema no longer came to town. After Goldfinger, the following years were; DAF, Goldfinger, LALD, (pretty sure DAF was shown again) then TMWTGG by which time I was fully into reading the books.
    I missed seeing OHMSS (which was on the year before I was allowed to go, but remember all my friends who went talking about it.

    Wow, you're all so young !! I didn't realize I was such an old poster here !

    I'm 40 and my first Bond was FYEO. Since then, I saw them all as soon as they were out ... until DAD. I was so so so disappointed by DAD that I didn't go and see CR. The first Bond I didn't watch on the big screen in almost 30 years ! Now, I deeply regret it because when I finally watched it on DVD it rocketed immediately to 1st place in my personal ranking ! And Craig immediately overtook dear old Sir Sean ...

    Same feeling about Dire Another Day - not since AVTAK had I left a Bond feeling so low. But Tounet77 NOT going to CR in the cinema! O.M.G. Bet you won't make the same mistake re: Skyfall.

    I'm 27 and I saw my first Bond, Goldfinger, in in the comfort of my own home at the age of four. I still think it's one of the better Bond films. Christ! I miss the 60's, and wish I would have lived back then.

    Oh, well, at least we live in the age of equality and I get to see more Bond films before I kick the bucket.

    I am currently 38, and my first encounter with 007 was in 1981 i think when i sat down and watched Live And Let Die! I have never looked back since or have never been the same? :D ;)

    I'm 56. First saw "Goldfinger" at a drive in movie with my parents and my younger brother when I was 9 in the winter of 1965. I thought it was the greatest movie ever. That summer I saw a double feature of "Dr No" and "From Russia With Love" at the same drive in and then "Thunderball" that December.

    I'm 22, and I discovered Bond at the ripe old age of 7, when GoldenEye 007 came out on the N64. Haven't looked back since.

    My older brother had GE for N64 and we always had GE on VHS.

    TWINE was released on VHS when I was 9. I remember going to Woolworths with my mum and buying it with my pocket money that I used to hide in a old Monopoly game!

    TWINE was on the buy one get one free offer and I chose Licence To Kill.

    By mid/late 2000 I had all the films on VHS and for Christmas that year I got my first Bond DVD - The Man With The Golden Gun!

    Also I remember that year ITV showed 5 Bond films with documentaries. (OP, GF, TB, OHMSS, AVTAK....I think?)

    Die Another Day was the first Bond film I saw on the big screen...
