I already voted for it but if it will help break the tie then:

Lotus gets the feeling it isn't liked and takes a swim

Or does it need to be from someone who hasn't voted yet?

    FYEO
  • I may hate the use of the 2CV in itself, I find the cinematography, cutting and editing process much better here and spectacular. So, point goes to FYEO.
    I wanted the QOS chase
But between those two, its definitely the drive in the country. FYEO please

Why would you hate it? It's used brilliantly.

wow i missed a lot.... if you'll endulge me, i'll share my choices on the ones i missed....

    WORST TITLE THEME

out of those choices i'd probably have to say LuLu and The Man With The Golden Gun..
i appreciate the lyrical double entendre and the rockin' energy.. but it's a song that if i got my 007 playlist up, i'll usually skip right past... conversely, i actually love The Writing's On The Wall, i think it's a beautiful song and am disappointed to see many here that voted, disliked it so much.. oh well.. different strokes for different folks lol..

    WORST TITLE SEQUENCE

out of those, i gotta go with Binder's LICENCE TO KILL...
by this time, his schtick was outplayed and his style was about 10 years out of date.. i actually really liked most of what he did with AVTAK, but TLD and LTK were really uninspired - as were most of title sequences after TSWLM...... on a personal note, i don't feel like Klienman's work has ever disappointed - his opening titles for SP were just fine.. but if you were going to throw any of his work on here, i would say swapping SP for DAD's would've been appropriate..

    BEST PLOT REVEAL

    Auric Goldfinger's in GOLDFINGER...
i mean, come on, it's classic Bond.. love the miniature model hidden in the pool table.. plus i like how he essentially gets them to buy into what his plan is, then kills them all.... although, now that i think about it - why did he need to explain his plan to them at all? he could've just invited them in and quickly gassed them all - it's not like the goons had to call anyone to ok their deliveries.. plot hole lol.. but still, it's a classic scene.

    BEST FEMALE LEAD

the classic Bond fan in me wants to so badly say Diana Rigg.. but i gotta go with Eva Green as Vesper Lynd in CASINO ROYALE...
for me, it all boils down to range, and Eva just barely nudges past Rigg.. i just think of scenes like Bond and Vesper first meeting on the train - her attitude towards him when he loses it all - her having an emotional breakdown after helping Bond kill Malaka - her in love - then her taking her own life.. she really runs the gamete of emotion in CR, and it's really hard for me to find one thats been better.

    and now... all caught up...

    BEST CAR CHASE

i gotta go with the Lotus from THE SPY WHO LOVED ME....

but let me say, how in the bloody hell is the BMW Parking Garage chase from TOMORROW NEVER DIES not on this list, nor the Aston Ice Chase in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS??? lol

The Lotus gets the feeling that no one likes it and goes for a swim in TSWLM wins, its the one I watch the most, its an incredible sequence.

Absolutely, the whole chase just builds and builds as Bond faces off against different adversary's. From beginning to end it is perfection to me, some incredible camera shots as the Bond77 theme ramps up.

Am i the only one not impressed by the Lotus chase? Doesnt really do anything for me! I would much rather the Aston sequence from TLD!

Okay, just for the sake of playing the game, I'll switch my vote from the drive in the country to the Lotus going for the swim. I personally am amused by the 2CV but really, let's face it: the swimming Lotus really is the Best in Show here...

After a flood of votes the tie has been broken. Yes whenever there is a tie you are allowed to vote again.

I've been handed the envelope and the Best Bond car chase is....

Lotus gets the feeling it isn't liked and takes a swim from The Spy Who Loved Me! Receiving 8 votes.

Bond and Melina go for a drive in the country from For Your Eyes Only received 7 votes!

Now it is time for a Klebbie. Since we are in a driving mood why not award worst car chase in a Bond film. The nominees are:
    • Bond and Hinx drive on the empty streets of Rome from SP
    • Bond and Case Flip Flop on the Strip from DAF
    • Bond and Aki and a small drop in the ocean from YOLT
    • Bond helps the Three Blind Mice attend a funeral from DN
    • Taxi Driver freaks out in Paris from AVTAK

Who shall earn the Klebbie? It is in the hands of the academy!

Oh, dear i may be in the minority again. Iike that AVTAK chase it has one of the best stunts where the car mounts the bus and down the other side.
I' m going to go with Bond and Aki in YOLT. Dullsville!

Regrettably I have to say YOLT despite the scene featuring one of John Barry’s greatest pieces of music.

Bond and Hinx is a badly misjudged chase. No tension, silly showboating powerslides rather than real fast ones, empty streets... it's just wrong, really. Hey Spectre: watch the car chase from Mission Fallout and weep.

The DAF Mustang chase is fine. It's not great but at least it has a story to it, unlike the Moonbuggy chase which is just shots stuck together. Some nice driving in there too, and it supplies what is needed at this point in the film.

The YOLT drop in the ocean isn't really supposed to be much a of big chase is it? It's just a little bit of brief action and it's entirely about the helicopter gag, which is a great one. I can't say it's bad at being something it's not trying to be.

Dr No hearse chase. Well it's bad obviously (doing the one 'stunt' by cheating and using back projection is pretty unimpressive, as is the magically exploding and transforming hearse), but this is proto-Bond here and I feel bad for holding it up to values it didn't know it was trying to achieve.

The AVTAK chase is filled with absolutely amazing stunts and it ends with a pretty funny gag with the increasingly chopped-up car, so that's not on my list.

So the loser is Bond/Hinx from Spectre for being in the spot where a big action was needed and not supplying the goods (unlike some of the other ones on the list which are just there for a quick punchline or similar and do it fine).

Bond and Hinx drive on the empty streets of Rome from SP, its pretty mundane when you look beyond the cinematography or p filter.

My vote is against SP although I would have rather chosen QoS because of the editing. It has some funny moments in between ("ammunition not loaded" etc.), but overall it's rather boring and I don' like the dark night setting. The music is also too hectic IMO (well, that can be OK, but it has to be done in a better way)

On the other chases I basically agree with mtm. The parking lot "labyrinth" is quite nice in DaF", and the AVTAK car chase goes together with the preceding nice setting on the Eiffel Tower.

Some real weaknesses here. The DN hearse with the Three Blind Mice gets a pass from me as it's the first Bond movie & the film-makers are still learning how to play their game. I'm less inclined to give that same leeway to YOLT as they should have a better idea of what they're doing by this time: the monitor in Bond & Aki's car is showing a scene (the magnet releasing the other car) it simply shouldn't be ABLE to show, unless Bond is getting a feed from the movie director's daily rushes. But DAF's flip-flop on the strip is just unforgivable. I can ignore the slide-whistle in TMWTGG's corkscrew stunt more easily than I can DAF's boneheaded screw-up on the visuals once Bond & Tiffany enter the alley on two wheels. It's a great chase sequence utterly ruined by the mishandling of this one stunt. DAF gets the stiletto in the shins from me this time around.

The AVTAK stunt on top of the bus is great, it elevates it beyond some JG daftness.
