Exact ! Not to mention Mr. Wint's perfume. Now here's one from the books:

At breakfast, on his bread, James Bond always spread:

    1) Orange marmelade, strawberry jam and Norwegian honey
    2) Marmite, herrings and chopped onions
    3) English butter and a pinch of pepper.

#2 is the answer for the DAF question, sorry, didn't see the next page. For this I think Benny was right, I haven't read the books in awhile so maybe not.
Benny is right. More precisely, Norwegian Honey from Fortnum's, "Little Scarlet" strawberry jam from Tiptree (very little strawberries, BTW, and hard to gather: 60 strawberries for a pot), and Cooper's Vintage Oxford orange marmelade (only spanish oranges in it). From the movies, now

Still about the last meal in DAF: Where's the trap ?

    1) The shashlik is doused in kerosene
    2) There's a detonator under the oysters
    3) The "Bombe Glacée" goes "tick tock"

    Now, one from the movies:

During the final meal in Diamonds are Forever, Bond unmasks the would be killers, Wint and Kidd:

    1) Because they think Dom Pérignon is a pink Champagne
    2) They don't know that Mouton Cadet is a Claret
    3) They use the wrong Brandy to flame the shashlik

Sorry to nitpick, but the wine in #2 was not Mouton Cadet, but Mouton Rothschild. Mouton Cadet is the "vin ordinare" Bordeaux that is produced by the same family (Baron Phillipe at the time). Mouton Rothschild was the 2nd Growth Bordeaux that was presented (and elevated to 1st Growth 2 years after DAF).

    ok, back to the game.

THe bomb was in #3 "THe Bombe Supreese"

Point taken. But remember I'm quoting from a book that had quite a few mistakes in it, most notably a scene in FRWL which was given to DAF (twice!).

And you win this round. Now a question from the books:

May, James's housekeeper, brings him back regularly from the country:

    1) French hens eggs
    2) Swiss cows milk
    3) Scottish peas

Ha, Scottish peas, as she is Scottish

Nope. BTW, there's a french pun here: "Petits pois écossais" = "Petits pois écossés".

    Try again.

Isn't it French hens eggs? I have a feeling whichever I choose of the two, I'll be wrong, but they both sound equally right off the top of my head, haha.

    I think it's the eggs.
Indeed, french hens eggs they are. I can launch a "cocorico" for that.

    Now, one from the movies:

In Never Say Never Again, Bond smuggles Foie Gras into Shrublands. From where does it come ?

    1) The Landes
    2) Strasbourg
    3) Fauchon
All right, given that nobody has found the answer, I'll give it: The foie gras Bond smuggles into Shrublands comes from Strasbourg. Which, by the way, means that it's goose foie gras (in the Landes, they do either duck or goose. As for Fauchon, it's a well-known, and very expensive, french caterer, the equivalent would be Fortnum & Mason).

Now, one from the books: In TMWTGG, 007, presumed dead, must establish his identity. He proves he's the real James Bond by revealing:

    1) The recipe of his Martini
    2) The menu of MI6 mess hall
    3) The brand of M's personal Brandy.

Okay obviously I do not know but I so doubt #2, so I will guess for my final answer: #1 the martini! :)

I'll guess 2 because it hasn't been picked yet.

Yes, Volante, it's number 2. BTW, a subsidiary question: what's on the menu for wednesdays ?
I got out my book and looked this one up, steak and kidney pudding.

Right. One of my favourite british dishes, BTW.

    Now, from the movies:

The first meal Bond has after getting out of the North-Korean jails is lobster, quail eggs and...?

    1) Tofu
    2) Wasabi
    3) Seeweeds

    Seaweed, I believe.

Exact, DoubleO. Now, one from the books:

In the morning, at home, Bond uses a coffee pot:

    1) In aluminium and titanium, invented by a former RAF pilot
    2) In tempered glass, invented by a former german chemist
    3) In white gold, invented by a former dutch goldsmith
  • Posts: 5,827
Well, as nobody has taken the challenge, (and it's been three months already, I'll give you the answer:

    chemex-glass-handle.jpg

Yes, that's a Chemex coffee brewer. So the answer is 2.

    I'll try one more question:

In DAD, when Bond beds Jinx, he has:

    1) A Fig
    2) A Grenade
    3) Grapes
