    Angels & Demons (2009)
Not as good as the novel, but I can understand the changes they made from the book. A decent fast-paced adventure.

Decent film, that reminds me I have still not watched Inferno

I watched Inferno not that long ago. Like with A&D the book is better, but the film is still enjoyable.

It's on Sky Movies or Netflix it's on one of my watch lists, I enjoyed the first two films, I like Felicity Jones also keep forgetting to watch it.

Reminds me of when I decided on watching Inferno. I bought it on DVD, but it sat on my shelf for a long time before I finally watched it.

It seems the reviews of the films are mostly on the negative side. But they're just meant to be popcorn entertainment, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I fully agree. Whatever people say, I'm having a great time with these three films, all three of them, in fact. Zimmer's scores rock, Tom Hanks is just a great choice for the lead part and the stories are very well written.

I used to think that none of the other two could ever beat TDVC but I must admit that A&D has grown on me and is now in the number 1 spot.

Tom Hanks is a great Robert Langdon; whenever I read the books now, it's him I imagine. As for the stories, I think they're written about as good as they can, as it's difficult to "downsize" the Dan Brown books to two hour films. I guess that goes at the expense of character exploration, and some characters might not be as fleshed out as some film critics would like. But that's not the intension of these films, after all. It's all about solving whatever mystery Langdon find himself in the middle of.

Not much a fan of Zimmer's scores myself, but they sort of work within these films.

It's been a long time since I watched TDVC. I will do so once I've read the book again - just like I did with A&D.

When I get the chance to watch TDVC again, I'll make a ranking of the films. Right now, A&D takes the #1 spot over Inferno.

The Sweatbox, a documentary on the behind the scenes of what became The Emperor's New Groove. Boy, there's a reason Disney banned it. It was a missed opportunity on many levels, creatively and in real life. Greatly enjoyable though.

Spider-Man Homecoming. More enjoyable the second time because my dad hadn't seen it yet. Tom Holland is definitively better than Tobey Maguire.

    Avengers: Infinity War

I'm way behind with the MCU, because I hate overcrowded movie theaters.

Great entertainment of course, very emotional too.

The big bus ( 1976) on Amazon prime. Still a great funny movie and the granddaddy of the likes of Airplane, and The Naked Gun films.

My local cinema will continue their 'Old School' seances, this time enlarging their films to the 1990's instead of 1980's only. Some of the films they'll show on the big screen in the coming months are: Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Silence of the Lambs, Jurassic Park and The Goonies.

And I've still need to see Endgame.

That'll do. It will mean that I've seen about 10 MCU movies then.

Sadly underrated. I really like BR. The music is excellent. Fun fact: the actor playing Barry's adopted son became something of a personal assistant to Kubrick.

Barry Lyndon is quite excellent, as are most of Kubrick’s films. That one may be his most underappreciated masterpiece though.

The Dark Knight (2008). An all-time favorite - maybe still my single favorite movie. Perfect as a Batman film, comic book film, crime film, drama film - and works perfectly on its own and in the trilogy.

Are all modern films the same? I’ve been trying hard to find anything a bit different to watch recently, getting fed up with films that are just full of action, usually stuff that defies the laws of physics and gravity tied to pretty rudimentary story-telling. Then I stumbled upon Spotlight a fantastic film about the Boston Globe uncovering a story about child abuse in the Catholic Church. Starring Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Adams. Brilliant, gripping film along the lines of All The President’s Men in that it shows the investigation in a fairly small, local story that unearths a huge conspiracy. A must see film.

Excellent film, that one. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Gripping story and great performances from all involved. I particularly liked Schreiber's toned-down, stoic but determined acting.

Like a lot of Kubrick films this is a hypnotic experience. A stunning looking film that immerses you in the Overlook Hotel. The smooth steadicam and seamless sets gives the feeling you're actually there with the 3 principle players.
A film if I put it on I will always watch it all the way through.
Looks amazing on BD on my 4K TV.

I've seen it in the cinema about 4 times. A blast to watch with an audience.

Secret Window (2004). The twist is obvious, but the film is still very enjoyable for me. Seen it many times. Great performances all around.

A bittersweet film that intensely moved me, with an excellent performance by Peter Dinklage as our beloved Nick Nack. It has Mark Umbers as Roger Moore and Andy García as Ricardo Montalbán. A made-for-TV HBO film, this is a must-see for Bond fans. Damn, I still haven't fully recovered from that final shot... Great stuff, guys.

I didnt think it was that funny when Moore mocked Herve (doing a funny voice etc) , esp if youve seen his house and read circumstances of his suicide :(

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (S. Spielberg, 1981)
    Raiders-of-the-Lost-Ark-Booger.jpg?w=980&q=75

Watched my dvd copy from 2008, where the title is changed to INDIANA JONES AND THE RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, same as with Star Wars.

As many times as I have seen this, only now did I notice that Dr. Octopus is in it.

Very silly film, but also very enjoyable. Spielberg s filmatic narrative powers are at his best here. It s a classic in its genre. Inspired by old matinees and serials as well as Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge stories and a bit of Bond. Iconic scene after iconic scene, and the one that makes me laugh is when Marion kisses Sallah accompanied by the ship horn.

Lucas has said that of all the films he made, this one was the most fun to make.
