Anyone who ever dated Dolf Lundgren deserves at least two times as a Bond girl. ;;)

I still insist they should give her a small speaking role in Bond 23

She's stunning, can properly act (Watchmen), is properly proportioned, as in not a surfboard as modern models are, but truly ' formed', and is of a proper age for Daniel.

I probably suggested her before, but as with pictures of Christina Hendricks, you know, her:

oh! that guy is the Mayor of London!

this is not the first time I've seen Kelly in photos with famous people and dignitaries; she should be in a Bond film!

You can all say what you want about Kelly, we're not married anymore. In fact we divorced a long time ago. She kept the castle in Spain, while I kept the collection of Alfa Romeos and I have since moved on to Lady Smythe #4 (well... #3 then #4).

Sorry @CommanderRoss, but did you see the same film I did? Whatever Malin is in she is ridiculously horrible. She doesn't have a drop of acting talent. And that's what we are looking for. Not a woman who is ONLY attractive. I want a Bond film with a talented actress who has a natural beauty as well. Bond 23 needs strong commanding acting, not just a bunch of women getting their tops off for no reason. Get your heads out of the gutters gents.

do you think Eva Green would still have garnished the attention she did for Dreamers if she didn't do any full nudity in that film?

i.e. do you think her character in that film would had worked the same without the nudity?

finally, if she didn't do any nudity in there, do you think she would still have attracted the attention of Bond films producers?

Excuse me? What the hell does Eva Green have to do with the current discussion? Comparing her acting to Malin Akerman's acting(or lack there of) is like comparing 5-star food to McDonalds. That's an insult to not only Eva's talent but to her natural uncorrupted beauty. She is a woman of the highest order, and how much she is nude should be of no concern to your obsessed mind. EON weren't looking towards casting her for her nudity in one film. They looked to her for her past acting prowess and her ability to play Vesper. That's the reason why she beat out all the competition. You can make all the excuses you want, but Eva is and always will be a complete package: Intelligent, artsy, musically talented, caring, giving, and beautiful.
  • I've never seen Eva Green nude ;;)

When I first saw CR, I was largely unfamiliar with the actress but she did OK, was intelligent, and was beautiful without being churlish, the complete opposite I thought of Paris Carver in TND

It was a surprise to see her die in the first Craig film, most people have an inherent fear of drowning so it was a little upsetting to see someone go like that, fictitious picture or not. I would of liked to have seen more of her in subsequent pictures if it were possible.

But @Baltimore, CR had to stick to the novel.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 you said Bond needs an actress based on her acting abilities and not based on her taking her clothes off.

so my question to you is if Eva (using her as an example of a past strong Bond girl) didn't take her clothes off in Dreamers, will she still have gotten her role in CR?

if she didn't do any nudity in that movie, will she just be a distant inkling on the Bond film's producers' radar and not even attract their attention?

If her role in Dreamers didn't require her to do full nudity, will she still have delivered such a powerful performance in that movie and get recognized by the critics for it?

I didn't imply EON was casting her to do nude scenes in Bond 21.

I am asking you a valid question as a gentleman, no need for you to get snappy and defensive and antagonistic again.

For once, be a gentleman and read the questions in their entirety and answer the questions in a polite, non-condescending manner, like the gentleman you claim to be.

I don't claim to be anything of the sort. I read your "question" fully and answered it in my post. Eva would still get recognized because acting outmatches all the nudity. As I've already said, she IS Vesper and I am sure glad.

I always though Eva Green to be a terrible actress... Only good looks, I'm afraid. Never liked her in anything.

But I agree with @CommanderRoss - Christina Hendricks would make a stellar Bond girl !

DC007 - I'm surprised to read that you find her terrible in the acting department - can you elaborate? I've read that some people don't find her attractive (while comparing her to more "Hollywood" looking women) but admit that she's a fine actress. What in your opinion makes her not even competent or average and moves her down to terrible?

Personally I thought her performance excellent in CR, but there's no set scale for measuring acting ability.

@thelordflasheart I don't know... She's nice to look at, but she just annoys me... I've never been blown away by her performances. Maybe it's the way her roles are written, but she seems a pretty bland woman... One night stand girl for me.

I agree that judging acting ability is a pretty a hazardous science. All I can say is, for me, she does nothing.

Her very dodgy accent didn't help either. More Australian sounding than anything else. All in all, I thought she was average and looked even worse opposite Craig.

Yes, Craig wiped the floor with her. Even Murino was much, much better than Green.

True. I'd go as far to say she was the weakest link in the film.

There must have been other, or better, actresses out there to play Vesper. Maybe it was the rushed casting, not being announced until filming was underway?
  • Ouch.

I personally loved Eva Green's vesper. OK, on relfection, the accent did sound a little Australian - but it didn't distract me. I thought she smouldered on screen, and the chemistry between her and Craig was brilliant. I still think that the scenes on the train and in the shower were some of the best in the film. The only thing that would have dramatically improved her character, is if they had spent a couple more minutes on her personal insecurities (esp. towards the end of the story, as in the novel) and made up by cutting a couple of minutes from the airport scene in Miami.

As for future Bond girls, I doubt that any of the actress we've talked about most will be in the B23 line up (apart from Naomie Harris). It'll probably be a relatively unknown actress, that may have done some feature-length dramas or European films.

I could, of course, be totally wrong, and happy to eat my hat come the press release!

I too LOVED Eva in CR, or in anything for that matter. I have everything short of a shrine set for her, and her presence on screen draws me in. Her natural beauty, the sexy voice, the way she walks with conviction. The train scene in CR is my favorite moment of the series, due to her great chemistry with Craig and her ability to match him on a mental level. The scenes in CR featuring her are always a joy for me to watch and made all the better by her spectacular showing. I will go so far as to say that CR wouldn't be my favorite film in the series without her. When I think of Vesper, I think of Eva. I think of the commanding performance she gave. Such strong emotion in the shower scene and later in Venice. She made Vesper my favorite Bond girl for all these reasons and more. She didn't win a BAFTA for nothing gents. I could go on and on about Eva. Her brilliance outside of acting. Her care in giving back. I can relate to her. A quiet atheistic girl whose French roots intrigue me more. Anyway, I will defend her to the ends of the Earth, and I'll have a damn good time doing it. If you see this Eva, I'm available. I'll sell myself to slavery for you. :X

The train scene and shower scene with Vesper in CR are the nadir of the franchise, IMO. Hated both scenes.
  • Each to their own DC, but why? Nadir of the franchise seems quite strong!

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 I think you've got your pink glasses on when talking about Eva Green. Personally I think she had her good moments, but she wasn't that good. And you'll only need Halle Barry to remind you that gettig awards gives no guarantee about your acting abilities.

I found Malin Ackerman quite good in Watchmen, nudity or not. I'm from the European mainland, I'm quite used to that. Dutch regular movies border on porn continually. But that, also, tells you nothing about the acting abillities of the stars.

    And how's about Hendricks?
Can't you agree with @DaltonCraig007 and me?

Nadir of the franchise coming from a *cough* Moore fan *cough*. For a guy who seems to hold the characterization of Bond in high esteem you sure do like the running joke and charmless pairing that is Roger Moore's Bond @DC. Care to elaborate on why you dislike these scenes? And no 'Because Daniel Craig is in it' or 'I don't like Eva Green's acting' as responses. Additionally, have you read the novel?

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 nope, not yet. But what does that have to do with the movie? Have you read Moonraker, the novel?
