Classy song, stunning visuals. The theme of the movie and the passing of time from the cold war to the mid 90's was and still is incredible.
GE will always be the title sequence to beat in my book.

Hasn't aged well with the wailing from Turner. Everything about the film smells mid 90's to me

Agreed. The GE titles looks very dated now with all that soviet iconography.

YKMN is a very muscular song that grabs you by the scruff of the neck and doesnt let go.

I do love LALD with the burning skull, nude women and voodoo imagery.

    Flagged. This is family site.

Every Bond movie looks exactly like the year it was made in.
It is all part of that 007 charm :)

    Why should this be flagged?

But surely that would be inevitable given the specific period of history its refering to?

I like YKMN but I much prefer the official version rather than the one used in the film. The imagery is superb though.

Agreed, most of the Bond movies look dated now in some form. Was watching some of DAF not long back - EXTREMELY dated, very 70s in tone.

As if wailing women haven't only increased in the years succeeding 1995. GE's titles are state-of-the-art, and the title track is easily the most underrated tune in the Bond canon.

With SF I was kinda impressed before they felt like avarage copies of earlier work which was creatively far superiour to the recent remakes.

    FRWL is easily my favorite.

I take it you have seen the title sequence for live and let die?

No, the CR titles look like they were done in Flash. I prefer the more honest handcrafted Maurice binder sequences.

Both Skyfall and Goldeneye possess better opening titles than Casino Royale. Maybe Adele and Turner as respective artists, don't offer the best with regards to the music, but the designs are better for sure and simply offer more

The GE title are good, but nothing outstanding. it's good, solid, classical. In CR, it's retro in look, modern in technique (I don't think they could have done it in the 50s), it has a few layers of symbolism... Skyfall's title was directly influenced by it too, much more than previous title sequences. It might be better than the CR one, I still prefer the CR title if only for the novelty.

It is pointless to reason with ignorance, @actonsteve.

Many of the Bond title sequences are very similiar and they kinda blend together(TMWTGG, TLD, TND, etc) with a few that stand out for uniqueness (OHMSS, GF)
but I have to say that CR is one of my favorites. It could be the best. The colors, the cut out cardboard figures and of course that balsy song by Chris Connell.

I was watching CR the other day and hadn't really given the sequence much thought until then. I really like it. I'm not too fond of the song but as a whole, the sequence was really fun to watch.

How can anyone not like Cornells theme intro ? I just don't understand that at all. But yet again, it's enough simple example where the theme outdoes the title designs
