Villains: their schemes, and their eventual demise..

HASEROTHASEROT has returned like the tedious inevitability of an unloved season---

throughout Bond's 50 year history, it seems the villains always make the mistake of getting Bond involved in their plots of either global destruction or domination - and then underestimating him completely, which leads to their eventual demise, and their plots foiled..

the question I pose, is which villain did the worst job in mucking up his or her plans?... which Villain could've very well had succeeded, but because of their idiot mistakes in getting the British Secret Service involved, flushed everything down the toilet?.. I'll start this one off..

HUGO DRAX
<a href="http://smg.beta.photobucket.com/user/djx187/media/drax_zps57719fe0.jpg.html"; target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/djx187/drax_zps57719fe0.jpg"; border="0" alt=" photo drax_zps57719fe0.jpg"/></a>

Drax was the one i believe was the absolute closest to getting his dream of "a better world" realized... his plan was so airtight that he was able to build a space station in space without anyone knowing... where he dropped the ball, was stealing back his own shuttle, simply because one of his other ones developed a fault....

come on now Drax!...

years and years of planning get flushed down the toilet because he gets impatient??..... yep..... had he simply put plans on a temporary hold, and built another shuttle (which he was more than capable of doing) neither Bond, MI6 or the US Government would've ever gotten involved.. but nope, he steals it back, and then requests the aid of the British government in figuring out what happened to it - now, in doing so, he constantly tries to have Bond killed - does he not realize that doing this might be a bit of red flag to Bond?? - and he never makes it clear as to why he wants Bond dead after requesting his aid, except that he is a villain, and it's what all villains do...

MOD EDIT: Title slightly changed.

    Great thread idea!

I was going to comment about Skyfall but I don't want to give any spoilers.
If Silva could have stayed alive for a couple more minutes, he would have seen his goal reached.

It's not that easy when you have a knife stuck in your spine ;) The mistake he made have to do with pride and vanity; not shooting M point-blank in the courtroom, not being able to kill her in the chapel, monologuing to Bond on several occasions instead of killing him (as most Bond baddies do!)
