There's trouble indeed in Pakistan though, forgoymyusername, at least in the West's relationship with the country in terms of 'the war on terror' or however you want to refer to it. While parts of the Pakistani army is fighting its heart out against Taliban forces and Al-Qaida, no doubt, as well as a proportion of its citizens suffering because of the conflict and other troubles, the idea that the military in Abbotabad (a military town itself lest we forget) weren't in collusion with Al-Qaida and bin Laden is naive surely. How else could he have lived there for up to five years undetected?

Rightly, Obama and his administration have made worried noises about how joined up - and potentially - how corrupt both/ either the Pakistani government and military are. If the West wants to control the threat posed by, let alone, defeat Al-Qaida, having Pakistan on-side is utterly critical...
