Thunderball: For King and Country?

I am watching TB at the moment (I have a day off). I just noticed that Bond says to Fiona Volpe that he slept with her ''for King and Country''. Shouldn't it be for Queen and Country?

Its an old english term traditionally announced when claiming land from a time when there was a Kingdom - in the context of Thunderball he has just made Volpe a conquest to get nearer the enemy, thus metaphorically gaining land and getting closer to his main goal.
