Bond producers/screenwriters made Craig's Bond an idiot? SPOILERS

I think there is good evidence to suggest/assert the notion that Skyfall presents James Bond in a poor light, and, for lack of a better description, an idiot. Consider the end of Skyfall....

SPOILER ALERT!

Bond takes M to Skyfall to lure Silva out of hiding so Bond can eliminate him. I think this development in the plot can be viewed in two distinct ways.

A) He wanted to use M as bait to lure out Silva so he chose a less conventional, less secure safe house. Skyfall looked undefended so Silva would think there were no hidden MI6 army waiting to get him. M died which proved Bond's decision was the wrong one.

or

B) He took M to a far-fetched location which seemed totally inappropriate with almost zero protection. His location was the wrong choice because M was killed. Had he taken her to a more secure safe house it's possible she would have lived.

Take your pick!

Ultimately, Bond's choice of safe house did seem a bit daft or badly thought out because there was little protection and M died. I don't know if the producers/writers were trying to make a point that Craig's Bond was basically an idiot but you could come to that conclusion.

I didn't mean idiot to be negative to anyone on the forum. I was referring to Bond's actions in the film. I will continue this thread elsewhere. Thanks.

he's right. the writers did a terrible job with skyfall. The whole movie was a joke compared to Casino Royale. I mean come on, Bond driving his boss to his old childhood home? since when did EON start relying on Children books for plot scenarios?

Yes, I'm a fan of the Original Series and TNG. Wrath of Khan is my favorite trek film.

But on topic. The Script was excellent. Skyfall was great. sure not everybody loved it but oh well. People gotta vent sometimes.

Bond is brilliant in the film. So many people don't analyze the climax correctly and just make baseless comments.

The point was that neither Bond nor M wanted to risk the lives of other because of Silva's vengeance.
And they went to SF because they wanted some link with Bond's past and gives us an deep interesting ending.
I don't think they want to make Bond look as an idiot... They just wanted to give us a good story and an entertaining movie. Some people don't appreciate that or, even worst, don't understand the film.

I think one of @JWESTBROOK's links will do just fine. We don't need another provocative thread starting up a forum war. Provocative? Yes, for if you take a close look at the thread's title, you will notice it's meant to be exactly that.
