Is Skyfall a metaphor for the world situation?

I start seeing a metaphor for the actual economical situaton in the plot of Skyfall.

Is at the door from West and East, Istanbul, of which Napoleone Bonaparte once said : “ If the World would be a Country, Istanbul would be its Capital City”, that James Bond, our West knight, dies at the beginning of the film.

And that door opens, taking a resurrected – through the title sequence - 007 in the heart of the New Dragon, China, from where he drags back Silva in the heart of the Old Lion, England.

Silva target is M, the keeper of the Old Lion, and…the end is known to all of us.

Any Fellow ProudBondFan idea on it?
