Look back at how the tabloid press reported on the pre-production of "Live And Let Die" back in 1972...

[Roger Moore] isn't going to play James Bond. It turns out Moore has commitment which will keep him busy for the next three years.

Harry Saltzman's and Cubby Broccoli's choice for the siren in their upcoming James Bonder, "Live And Let Die", looks to be Playboy's August playmate. She's sireny Linda Summers.

Even then without the internet, online discussions, facebook, twitter and mobile phones the press still had an unerring ability to pick up enough rumours and half truths in order to get so much of their coverage completely wrong.

Enjoyed this trip down memory lane! Interesting about the Playmate, while I can't see anyone else playing Solitaire...she would have been a nice diversion for the eyes!
