It's going to be 100 years when this event will happen again. Please if you can, do. We will all be dead and buried before it happens again. Few things in life, this amazing and this uplifting can be experienced for free. Please please please do it.

Here's a portal to see when to view it. In the UK it's about 5am, i hope it's not cloudy. Remember stay safe, use a filter and don't look directly at the sun.

    I am looking out my window and it's 5:41 PM here in Pennsylvania. The Sun is all white. Is that was it is supposed to look like?

    It's going to happen in about 20 mins to first contact. if you check the http://www.sunaeon.com/venustransit/ site it will give you the time of your viewing.

    you are about 40 degrees north and 77 degrees west you'll see it it sunset.

    Remember it's going to look like a little football against a big yellow football pitch.

    Be patient and it'll be rewarding I'm sure.

    i got up for it, it wasn't cloudy and it was fantastic. I hope the members here enjoyed the view as well.

    I'll open this thread up in a hundred years with Bond 150.

    Didn't see it, but the sky at about 11 PM looked cloud filled on one side of the sky, and completely dark in the other. I couldn't really care less to be honest. Astronomy holds none of my interests.

    Was unaware about this, but thankfully have seen footage on the news for this. Incredible stuff and makes you realise how SMALL we all are in the big scheme of things. In my lifetime i would love contact from another planet! It would change the world, and most likely resolve alot of issues among the nations of the world too?
