Not SPECTRE. Though that's also a mouthful.

    @Mack_Bolan, come in @Mack_Bolan. At this point it's as easy as 1, 2, 3.
[I'm crediting you with the win but you need to seal the deal.]

Not Nine Eyes (or I's, for that matter).
  • C.

    Yes, C.

Keying in on Spectre was enough over time, I can make sense of the "clues" in a moment. Good on you, @Mack_Bolan.
  • Thanks for the challenge! I will provide clues for the character I have in mind a little later.

I need an explanation of the previous round before a new one starts. I can't be the only one!

In explanation, I chose up front not to provide traditional point to point clues and that was recognized by the audience. Instead, I quickly laid out the 11 points for folks to eventually see the larger picture and come closer to the, um, right character. I noticed Max Denbigh had not been played and that was also part of it.

    So by design:
    - Each of the 1-11 is a quote from Spectre.
    - The first quote is noticeably from Spectre, intended as a tip-off or direction.
    - Over time I made the quotes more and more complete, more recognizable from the one film hopefully, but left out a key element.
    - There is a commonality to all the quotes: every line of dialog with the word "see", the phonetic equivalent to the letter "C".

So what I intended as requiring code-breaking was first to focus on the film, then the dialog itself, and the key omission going on. Of course sticking with the same film eventually leads to the answer, that's a part of cracking the code. Once Max Denbigh was guessed I couldn't ignore it, even if the answer sought was "C".

    An Eon character.
This was indicated as a clue, later on.

    1. Will you make the journey.
Will you make the journey to Altaussee?
    2. Only a matter of time.

    4. You filled out most of the paperwork.
I see you filled out most of the paperwork.
    5. You left this final question blank.
I see you left this final question blank.
    6. Then I think that you ought to.
Then I think that you ought to see this.
    7. Every known map registers it as empty desert.
See, every known map registers it as empty desert.
    8. But if you look at the satellite blowup you can.
Exactly. But if you look at the satellite blowup, you can clearly see this.
    9. I came to your home once.
I came to your home once to see your father.
    10. What's right in front of you.
Whereas you couldn't see what's right in front of you.
    11. They failed to comprehend the crucial fact, that a terrible event can lead to something wonderful.
You see, they failed to comprehend the crucial fact, that a terrible event can lead to something wonderful.

    Round 2 clues, more traditional.
    1. Original clue: literally.
"An Eon character" is the first clue, character as in a letter of the alphabet.
    2. I have a joint.
He has a Joint Security Service, he's the head of it.
    3. Bond makes stuff up about me.
OO7 assigns the name "C" on their first meeting.
The soup comment was toward Alphabet soup for Q, Nine I's, SPECTRE.

Thanks again for bringing this to a close @Mack_Bolan. A relief to many I'm sure.

Ok it's been awhile but here we are.
    Character from an EON film.

    1. Bond has been here before but I don't know that.

He asks for his usual suite but the clerk doesn't seem to know him.

    2. I'm abruptly interrupted.

Mr. Chang interrupts me fairly quickly

    3. Two commands are shouted at me within seconds

Open the presidential suite and do it now!!

    4. My profession has been seen across many films, but this is the first for this particular Bond, if memory serves me right

We've seen a decent amount of hotel desk clerks throughout the series, but the first we see one in the Brosnan era.
