Big NO from me for Terry returning for LTK.He was way too wooden and Hedison was by far the best Felix Leiter of the entire series.

Well I wouldn't say Hedison is the best Leiter, I don't think he is, but he's ten times better than Terry.

I liked Hedison in LALD, but he was way too old by LTK. It’s just bizarre seeing a geriatric guy running along with a DEA hit squad.

Terry has proven to be a good actor in many non-Bond works, so I have no doubt he would have fared better in LTK. I can’t hold TLD against him because it really was a nothing role and there wasn’t time to get acquainted by his Leiter.

I still think he was quite bland in the material he had. Despite his age, I'm of the opinion Hedison had much better chemistry with Dalton.

Alec Trevelyan should have been the villain in Skyfall. I know EON considered bringing him back, according to IMDb. Nothing else needed to be changed, just the name.

I'd have been down. Could they have gotten Bean into shape for it? :P

Having said that, people have enough trouble with the DB5 and this certainly wouldn't have helped things lol

Seriously? How the hell were they going to explain away a bloody SATELLITE DISH falling on top of him?

It would be cool to bring back Trevelyan, but have him be on Bond’s side the whole film. Makes it a bit more tragic knowing their friendship will come to an end sometime down the line.

A possible future storyline at some point, in any Bond media. I’m basis though.

I'm pretty sure this is a false trivia. First of all because it is very easy to edit and write whatever you want and pass it off as something real, secondly because everything that has been said and wrote about the production of Skyfall goes against this info. We learn from the book Some Kind of Hero that in Peter Morgan's original screenplay (then titled Once Upon A Spy) the bad guy was a corrupt Russian oligarch who blackmails M, casting a dark shadow over her career. Then, when Purvis and Wade delivered a draft in November 2010 titled Nothing Is Forever, the villain was now called Raoul Sousa and Javier Bardem was already imagined for the role. So there isn't much room left to bring Trevelyan back.

But, regarding your opinion in itself, I must admit that I am not convinced: on the one hand because I don't think that previous adversaries should be brought back (whether created by Fleming and even more so when they are original), on the other hand because one of the characteristics of Silvia is that he is excellent throughout the planning but very bad as soon as he is on the filed. While Trevelyan was an exceptional agent, Silvia was a rather bad operative who was unable to swallow his cyanide poison. Bringing Trevelyan back is also bringing back an elite field agent, capable of hand-to-hand combat against Bond. However, the whole theme of Skyfall is the confrontation between new and old, Silvia embodying the novelty in the world of espionage, disconnected from the concrete and acting in the digital world. Trevelyan would not have had his place here.

Don't think bringing Trevelyan back in any capacity would be a good idea, but I always thought they missed a great opportunity in GE to introduce a recurring threat with the Janus Syndicate. Trevelyan could have been the field commander, a bit like Largo, or the novel's Drax, and gave the organisation itself run by a shadowy figure and survive the events of the film.

Maybe rename it into The Carver Media Group, lol. They were doing dirty deeds outside of their media world.

Maybe not for TND, but I always thought GE and TWINE could have been linked yet remain independent movies. Heck, have the big showdown between Bond and the head of the Janus Syndicate in what would have been DAD and you might end up with a better movie!

Janus the two faced god and Colonel Moon/Gustav Graves almost works anyways. Would have been cool if the Brosnan era had its own archvillain/evil organization.

Like I said, they missed a big opportunity there. Have Trevelyan the field commander of Janus, the visible face of the outfit so to speak, turned to the "dark side" by some high ranking KGB officer or something. GE remains a standalone, but you have a recurring menace that you establish in the first Brosnan movie. Since Russia is present in TWINE in some capacity and Zukovsky is back, it would have made some sense. Come to think of it it would have strengthened his whole tenure.

IF adapting MR "straight up" -- or as directly as you would be inclined -- would you:

    1. Set it in its own timeframe ?

    2. Change it to the present, now that private space work really is underway ?

    3. Keep the lady lead and Bond apart from each other, intimately, with her engaged to a British military officer ? It would not be the first time that the lady lead and Bond do not -- as they said in Laverne and Shirley -- "vodeeyododo." Bond and Camille did not romance each other. Without running each film through my wee little mind, I think that was not the only time that particular non-occurrence occurred...ahem, yes, deliberately awful English for fun...in the films

    4. Keep the "everybody rockin' a moustache !!!" thing ?

    5. Flesh it out with some additional material ? Looking back on it, is it enough to fill a two-hour film ?

    6. Add another switch not found in the book ? Because the switch in the book has been used now in the films and more than once...

They would definitely have to add more stuff for the film. As the book is, it’s pretty standard potboiler stuff with Bond always feeling something is off for several chapters before the revelation. It works in book form because you can get into Bond’s head during all that, but as a film it needs more going for it.

That said, even the most faithful adaptations of the books have never been that straightforward, always adding a new things in order to make them play more cinematically. Like in the book we jump from the Orient Express to the hotel room, while the film adds chase sequences to make Bond’s journey back more dangerous and thrilling (though I always felt the boat sequence was one chase too many).

I once said that I find Berenice Marlohe more attractive outside of SF. I'm watching Tamara Drewe at the moment and watched The Death of Stalin. I would like to add Gemma Atterton and Olga Kurylenko as Bond girls that are even more attractive when not Bond girls.

Somewhat agree with you there. I am not sure why, but the Bond films didn't get the maximum potential out of them looks wise...

Yes, I absolutely dislike Marlohe's look in the casino in SF. Always loved her look at the airport (in the trailer) and was disappointed that it was finally cut.
Same goes for Gemna Arterton: she looks better in other movies.

Not particularly.( My own fav five in a row must be FRWL,GF,TB,YOLT,OHMSS.)

DN through OHMSS would be my six in a row if not for YOLT (I definitely like the film, but nowhere near as much as Connery’s first four and Lazenby’s one).

Perhaps Craig’s entire tenure as Bond will be my five in a row, someday after I see NTTD. I’ve enjoyed each entry thus far already.

For sentimental reasons I might have to make my five-in-a-row TLD, LTK, GE, TND, TWINE. I suspect that Craig's tenure will end up being my favourite five-in-a-row.

I can understand for Severine: she's a prostitute and she's meant to look exotic and mysterious. She looks better when she's about to get shot, ironically enough.

To be fair, I think they pretty much struck gold with all the others.
